Take for example a typical lifestyle of a typical person. We see all kinds of advertisements on our television, all manner of programmes that we forget to record that have outstanding ideas when it comes ... ...luxurious, and then there is a magazine that has managed to put all these ideas into detail, and wonderful photography, so that we have a constant reference guide to help us achieve the jobs that we need to achieve in the home.
Their writing style is good and easily understandable, but what I like most about this magazine is the WOW factor. How can a bathroom for example give you that WOW factor. Well believe it or not it can.

Country Homes & Ideas is a magazine for the person who is looking to make their home a little bit special. I have subscribed to this magazine for over two years now, and its content and variety of subject matter never disappoints me.
Take for example a typical lifestyle of a typical person. We see all kinds of advertisements on our television, all manner of programmes that we forget to record that have outstanding ideas when it comes to decorating our homes, and making them a little more luxurious, and then there is a magazine that has managed to put all these ideas into detail, and wonderful photography, so that we have a constant reference guide to help us achieve the jobs that we need to achieve in the home.
Their writing style is good and easily understandable, but what I like most about this magazine is the WOW factor. How can a bathroom for example give you that WOW factor. Well believe it or not it can.
This magazine takes you through each room of your house, advises on the latest wallpapers, paints, innovative products, and has a nifty section where you can get all the details of suppliers, and not only does it do that, it helps you to dress a room to its best effect. It tells you where to buy accessories, there is a practical guide on buying antiques, and the essential guide section of the magazine advises on lighting, carpets, indeed anything that you could wish to know about enhancing that little nest that you call home.
One of the nicest things about this magazine is that it shows you traditional type design but also leans towards the more innovative and modern. Usually a magazine does one or the other. This magazine aims at both markets for the traditional styles and the modern ones which makes it a Godsend to a person who seeks ideas, both traditional and state of the art.
Compared with other magazines, I find this one to be a real winner because it does not assume that the reader is ultra rich. It seems to cater for a wide spectrum of people, and gives you very good tips about saving money as well as how to spend it !!!
Not satisfied with helping the average householder with their interior, there is a section devoted to gardens which is also valuable to anyone.
There is a money back guarantee with this magazine which I find refreshing. It means that they have confidence in their product, and you may ask how this works. Well, IPC (the publishers) want you to buy on a regular basis and encourage subscriptions, so your purchase will be registered with them if you take up one of their offers. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, they will give you a refund. Clear, simple, so you have nothing to lose.
Subscriptions come in all kinds of packages. You can subscribe for 6 months like I do at £12.67 all postage included, or you can take out one of their longer term plans at advantageous rates.
I really believe that the Editor of this magazine has looked at the housing market at all levels and has aimed their articles at the most humble of homes as well as the more lavish which makes a real change, because in the past a lot of these luxurious magazines were aimed at one sector of society, i.e. the rich.
The quality of the photographs is stunning. The authenticity of the articles amazing, and I can truly say from the point of view of someone who is practical that their solutions are realistic and well explained.
Go to IPCmedia.com for more information. It will not disappoint you.
Advantages: Gives you so many ideas. Disadvantages: Some of them are bad ideas.
absolutely adore looking at foreign countries and what they have available so this makes the journey an enjoyable one for me, getting to see what other cultures and countries have on offer.
CHALLENGE TOMMY WALSH
I enjoy this. I used to think that the guy was a total cowboy, but he has won my respect over a period of time, and shows himself to know his business. Each week, he is presented with a task of building work and the challenges are met with gusto and a lot of expertise that I really did not credit the man with originally.
SELLING HOUSES
I watch this program with a certain amount of disdain, because most of the things that the program shows as common sense ways to sell your home are just that, common sense, although there are again some interesting interiors to be seen, and ideas to be adopted.
OTHER PROGRAMS
Of course ...
Advantages: only 30 minutes Disadvantages: on every week
