Taste:
I have tasted the savory. It was tasty, sugarfree. That is the important aspect which attracted me. In normal biscuits and rusks there are some sugar added. Until age of one, it is not advisable to feed high amount salt and sugar to the baby. It would taste like wheat biscuit without salt or sugar.

To all and would be parents, its a cool suggestion from an experinced mum. Hope it would be useful. I had a baby. It was so beautiful. I felt world was in my hands. But when you have the responsibility to take care of the kid all alone, problems arise. Then we decided to talk about to sort and schedule each and every thing for the kid.
I left my job and fully dedicated my time for the kid. Regarding the food I fed fresh home made food. Healthy food helps the kid for better growth. I got various recepies. But I don't have single clue for snacks. I usually give some fruits for him to chew in the evening around 4.30.
But that wasn't enough for him. His digestion is so good that he feels hungry often. He won't even eat a bit if he doesn't like the taste. I wondered. Then thought of trying some savoury fingers. I give him in the evening by mixing it with little milk. He liked it very much and along with that was able to bottle feed him. He usually spits the milk but its a wonder, when I fed along with this savoury he drank very well. So I achieve the daily routine of 180ml in the evening. So no hassle, no mess, no fuss no tension. I feel very relaxing.
Texture and appearance: 1. These are around three inches long, half an inch wide. 2. Pale brown colour with little dark dots confirming the ingredient of whole grain. 3. Look like a mini dog biscuit with a bit of curve in the middle, easy for the baby to hold.
Price: 1. £1.35 in Tesco for a box of 180gm 2. In boots its £1.45 and there are offers aswell. If you buy kids products for more than 25 pounds and hold an advantage card, you get 500 points equivalent to £5. Offers with cow & gate as well. Check for offers.

Until age of one, it is not advisable to feed high amount salt and sugar to the baby. It would taste like wheat biscuit without salt or sugar.
Advantages:
1. Cost effective. Good value for money.
2. No added sugar which is present normally in other biscuits.
3. Very very less amount of salt.
4. When the savoury is added with water it becomes soft. So there is no need for u to mash very well. You can practice your child to have bigger granules (it won't hurt your child since it is soft. So your baby will try to chew and eat. It's a very good start for baby to move on to family food.
5. When my baby cries in the intermediate time for food (ie if i am supposed to give by 1.00 and he cries by 12.00), its not advisable to give any heavy snack or food. Otherwise he won't eat properly. So I would just give a savoury finger. He would just have them in hand and chew them on. Then I feed with normal food when he gets hungry. When I do so he won't make so much fuss while eating. Thanks Cow & gate.

Different receipes using savoury finger
You could try these for quickly and occasionally
1. Take an apple or pears , cut into pieces and boil for 10 minutes .Then blend it with the blender. Add to savoury finger with some milk. Very tasty and healthy. Your baby gets carbohydrates from wheat in the savoury, vitamins and minerals from baby milk and fruit.
2. Get a pack of instant custard. Added few spoons, then boiled water the add some savoury finger. Good tasty custard with savoury.
3. Cut a banana(any edible fruit for 8 month old kid) into pieces and make puree out of it. Add it with savoury finger.
By giving like this, you are able to feed at least a fruit a day, in the count of 5 a day (fruit and vegetable).
I hope reviews like this would be really useful, because I searched for various review to get ideas to feed the kid healthy. Thanks to Cow & gate.
Advantages: Easy to hold, vitamins, no sugar, Disadvantages: Watch out for choking
...something healthy, without sugar and Cow and Gate Wholemeal Savoury Fingers seemed to fit the bill. I often find that my daughters naggy time is around six o clock just as we're sittng down to dinner. A couple of savoury fingers seems to keep her occupied long enough for meals to now become an enjoyable social occasion. She chomps away on them, waves them about in the air or bangs on her tray until they break. A bit messy perhaps but worth the clearing ... ...other food products ring the Cow and Gate careline on 08457 623 623 or try their web site www.cowandgate.co.uk.

...Id inform you all about Cow and Gate baby and toddler biscuits.
The health visitor suggested trying Cow and Gate biscuits instead of Farley’s Rusks as they contain less sugar. Now whether that is true or not I don’t know, but my sister got herself a box of the biscuits as the health visitor also mentioned it will get Madeleine used to holding food and feeding herself.

...what they look like anyway. Cow and Gate Baby and Toddler Biscuits are my lifesaver. I always said that I'd never give my baby snacks, and if I did definitely not anything sweet. Well, as I write this my 8 month son is sitting eating what looks like a Dog Biscuit. It must be said that my son has a monstrous appetite, and no matter how much he eats at meal times can never make it throught to the next meal without snacks. Although they do have added sugar they contain 5 different cereals and therefore at least a little bit nutrious. My son loves these. I was also very pleased to find that they do not crumble, unlike many Rusks, meaning that I am left ...

The samples I got were of the 'milk' bar and the plum one.

Advantages: Pure, no E numbers and reasonably tasty to a forty something mother. Disadvantages: Expensive
I first came across Cow and Gate Frutapura about a year ago when my daughter now nearly two and half decided she was no longer going to eat. She has always been a strange eater from birth unlike her mother who eats anything and everything in site. The next problem we had with Holly was her non-existent bowel movements so along with the Lactulose solution prescribed by the doctor, I still like to make sure she has fruit every day. One pouch counts as one piece of fruit. Great, now only four portions of fruit and veg to try to get down her a day.
A bit about Cow and Gate
As every parent of babies and toddlers know Cow and Gate are a major maker of Baby and Toddler food.
Cow and Gate originally set up business in 1711, yes that's right 1711, as a small grocery shop at 20 High Street, Guildford by the Gates Family. In ...
Advantages: Lots of variety of baby foods, my boy loves them! Disadvantages: Not sold in most supermarkets, a bit more expensive, smaller jars than some brands
Since I started weaning my little boy I have mostly used the ranges of babyfood that can be found in all the big supermarkets - HIPP, Cow and Gate etc. There is nothing wrong with these brands except that I found the variety of babyfood they produce a little boring and wanted to give my little boy some different foods to taste.I found the BeechNut babyfood range (most of it anyway) in a local kosher deli in London where I live which has a large Jewish population. The shop does not stock the whole range (there are over 100 varieties of babyfood produced for the jars alone!!!) as they are not all kosher but there was a good enough variety so I thought I would buy a few stage 2 jars (Prunes with Pears and Tender Sweet Peas) which cost 52p for 113g. Incidentally, you can get them in some of the larger supermarkets (Tesco online stock ...
Advantages: Tasty and nutritious Disadvantages: Not a big pack,so expensive to buy for older children
Cow&GateBaby rice is an excellent first food for babies.
It doesn't have any added salt or sugar, which is great.
It's easy to prepare it with warm milk or water (in case of a milk allergy) and I think most babies will eat it.
I started to both my children on rice cereal, but my youngest refused it and prefered plain yoghurt,so I changed to that instead. But rice cereal is more nutritional than yoghurt ofcourse, that's why I started with rice cereal first.
He does it eat it now though as a toddler, but I find it quite expensive as the boxes are only 100gr and he obviously eats much more than a 6 month old baby. I do buy it though occasionally when it is on offer for £2 or buy one get one free, but not every week. ...
