There are so many card making magazines out there, how do you choose which one to buy. Well I make and sell handmade cards for a living so have gone through possibly all the titles you can buy then I came across Let\'s Make Cards. This magazine is £7.99 every issue and is the most expensive one on the shelf BUT it has to be the best buy. It comes out every 5-6 weeks, so if you popped the money in a jar each week this would work out around £1.60. ......covering as every issue you get plenty of freebies, well for the price you wouldn't really say they were freebies, but the amount and the quality of the freebies you would definitely pay more. Lets go with issue 5 that is out now. Lets have a little run down and what you get and how much you would possibly pay for them. Firstly you get 10 cards + envelopes, sometimes glossy and sometimes matt. Cheapest to buy would be £1.50 and still the quality ... Read review
Advantages: Great magazine Disadvantages: Could offer more freebies
Wonderful magazine with lots of ideas and inspiration. The resident crafters are very skilful, helping readers to try new things all the time and offering advice. The magazine is very good quality with lovely colourful photographs throughout and good advertisments. They also give lists of helpful websites worth visiting and real shops in order of county. Readers can send in their creations to be displayed on the "Reader's Gallery" in the magazine ......like reading what other crafters are getting up to. There could be more freebies given away with the magazine though. For £3.99 - most craft magazines of this price range give great gifts every month. I still recommend this book to anyone starting off or experienced scrapbookers - it is a very addictive hobby! ... Read review

...several sections, including: Simply inspiring. This section includes a variety of articles and photos on patterns, types of wool and knitting events - basically anything that could potentially inspire a newcomer to the craft to get involved. Simply patterns. This is the reason that I buy the magazine. Patterns tend to cost at least £2 each if bought separately, so the fact that there are usually eight patterns per issue means that the magazine is ......wool is used. Simply solutions. This is a very handy section that includes a stitch library, which provides beginniners and seasoned knitters with a range of different patterns, an ask the experts part, which answers questions on a variety of knitting-related topics and an 'all about...' section - the last two issues have focussed on edgings. Simply the best. This section provides readers with suggestions for the best books, yarns and patterns to ... Read review

...that I was going to scrapbook my memories too so I have now subscribed to 'Scrapbook Inspirations' which I think is both a helpful and inspirational magazine. As I am a novice at this, I do think that I need a lot of inspiration so it is lovely to see projects and scrapbook pages that other people have created. Also, I need to know about basic techniques which this magazine is very good at too! The most recent publication is the Spring 2007 one ......find in this one. The contents are divided into different sections - projects, inspiration, know-how and challenges are the main four! Projects There are three different projects that are shown in this issue - two featuring children and the other a wedding. In each of these the person who created it talks about their thinking behind it, describe step by step one of the techniques they used and provide a list of the materials needed to complete ... ...they possessed. Scrapbook Inspirations - Background and Readership = This review is about the leading scrapbooking magazine in the UK called Scrapbook Inspirations. Like the title suggests, the main purpose of the magazine is to inspire crafters with fresh new ideas each month to help them create amazing layouts of their own. This magazine is suitable for both experienced scrapbookers as well as those new ......some tips on how to scrapbook on a shoestring if your budget is tight. The Magazine The Cover --------------- In front of me is the January 2007 issue of the magazine. The cover is bright and glossy, like you would expect from a magazine of this kind. The cover always features a large layout relevant for that month. This month the theme is (yes, you've guessed it right) winter and snow. The cover follows the format of many other ... Read review
