General Info

Soulja Boy (tell em) is a "rap artist" from Chicago, he is also said to be a producer, actor and entrepenaur all though i find this man having any talent completely dismisable.

Travis Barker is a Punk/hip hop drummer formerly of "The Aquabats" fame, now he plays for Blink 182, Transplants and produces for many hip hop artists worldwide, he also has his own tv show called "meet the barkers" which airs on MTV. He released a Remix album a few years back of remixes of some of his favourite songs and this song appears on it. He recently released his Debut solo album "Give the drummer some" last year.
The single

This song has been made slightly more tolerable with Travis barker's offbeat punkish drumming and heavy power chord guitaring, it is still a awful song. with the chorus lyrics being
"Soulja boy off in this h*e
Watch me crank it
Watch me roll
Watch me crank that soulja boy
Then super man that h*e"

This is clearly not intellectual music for intellectual people. It seems to make no sense and one verse holds no relevance to the next, I can't for the life of me figure what on earth he is talking about, his rapping "style" for lack of a better word is to talk with a bit of a ghetto influenced accent, Travis Barker has not made this song much better, he has just made it a song which can now be listened to rather than ignored.

The production as a whole originally is not the problem, Everything Travis puts to the song is solid and the original keys which still feature on the track are solid and catchy, I listened to the instrumental of this and i enjoyed it, it seems the problem exists with the Lyrics and the "rapping". Avoid this at all costs. There is better stuff out there.

Side Note

Soulja boy appears to have a bit of a cult following after the release of this song and i can't for the life of me figure out why, if anyone has a clue as to why please write in my guestbook as i am genuinely intrigued.
