After many years of using my Sony headphones I've finally had to admit it. My ears are weird. The things keep falling out. The headphones that is - not my ears.
Having recently taken up occasional running again - and I do mean occasional - I found that the movement caused by jogging caused the earpieces to constantly fall out. I'd heard about in-ear headphones with changeable sizes of earbuds and decided to give them a go.
I ordered my pair of Creative EP-630s from eBay for the princely sum of four pounds including delivery. First impressions were that they looked well built as I would expect from Creative. I immediately tried them with my Sony mp3 player and was surprised to hear what appeared to be an underwater concert. After experimenting with the earbud sizes (four are supplied) and the method of inserting them into the ear I got much better results,
The sound is a lot more bassy than I'm used to. I adjusted the graphic equaliser on my mp3 player and got very good results in the low, middle and high frequency ranges. Sounding good.
The problem of them falling out was only partially cured. The earpieces do stay in better than my previous set but they still fall out during running sessions. I now run without them. Listening while walking was improved though. They stay in place all the way into town and back. No more constant readjusting.
My major complaint is that the wires are coated in a thick rubberised material. I'm sure this makes them more durable but it is so thick that you have the feeling that you are being constantly accosted by the frenetic flailing tentacles of some deranged audio-squid. They wave around your face and are very distracting no matter how you try and arrange them The best I've managed so far is to slip them between two layers if you're wearing them. They stay in place a little more then.
The connection at the player is always the weak point on cheap headphones I've found and these have gone already. The copper wire is exposed as the rubber has broken after only a couple of uses. The unit still works but I doubt it will for long.
For the money I paid I'm happy but I wouldn't buy another pair because of the thick wires and poor connections.
Advantages: good noise isolation, very strong base, no distortion, doesn't leak sound Disadvantages: feels too fragile
...5 because the first pair I had stopped working on one side around 8 months after I bought them. I got these replaced by creative themselves which was a relatively quick process. Also fine ear wax sometimes gets caught on the mesh of the driver, but it can be removed. ...

Creative EP-630
I have recently tried creative EP-630 and it cost a quarter of a similar pair of Bose phones that I'd normally go for. Ordering from their website couldn't be easier and the site is locked for security of payments.
The ear pads are rubber and far more comfortable to the ears. The design is by far more ergonomically and causes less stress to the ears. The sound is by far the real selling point however and is a stunning ... ...extraordinarily loud but the quality does not fall away and wobble/ scratchiness are simply not there, even at full volume.
The bass tones are very deep and you made need to lighten them up with a little more treble. The sound in general is very crisp.
The cord is very long which is a bonus as I run on road and on the treadmill. The Jack input is the standard ¼ inch.
This particular model 'fits all'.
Easy to pack and travel with and weighing ...

Advantages: Great sound, isolation and comfort at an affordable price Disadvantages: I suffered a fault with the right earphone
...sound and comfort on the creative product is at least as good if not better but they are a bit cheaper.
Overall I would recommend these earphones to everyone but if you are concerned by the amount of sound they shut out, then I would suggest trying a friend's pair (any brand of in ear style phones should give you a decent impression of what it is like). ...

Advantages: Cheap and work well Disadvantages: Not so durable
I have had these earphones for 6 months now, they have been of good service and i have not a bad word to say about them in terms of the sound, the sound is excellent, there is lots of bass aswell, which is not always the case with earphones. The only downside is ....
About 1 week ago they just started crackeling for no reason, they crackeled until they finally completely blew. BUT... i am ordering a new pair any way as they were so good, and only ... ...it can vairy a little bit some times) off Amazon, which is quite good for everyday 6 months of listening.
I highly recomened these brilliant, great value ear phones. By the way: 1. These earphones have 336 reviews (or around that on amazon) so if you need more information just go and check them out on amazon and they will tell you all that you need to know.
2. If you get them (which you should) and they are uncomfy, it probably means that you have ...

Advantages: Excellent sound and build quality Disadvantages: Bit bigger and heavier than an Ipod
...Okay, so it's not an Ipod and it's not the trendy fashion accessory that some people will be looking for but you will struggle to find a better player than this.
Size wise it is a bit bigger and heavier than the Ipod but it's not too big to be a problem.
The scroller works better than the Ipod wheel though this is just my preference (I also have a ipod mini).
The software works well and like most other players the earphones are a bit rubbish but this can be resolved by buying a pair of superb creativeep-630.
Comes with a mains adapter which is ideal for going on holiday although the battery life is superb maybe not quite the advertised 24hrs but you don't need to charge it too often (some players don't include this and expect you to shell out more money!)
On the downside it won't be instantly recognised by a computer...

Advantages: Sound quality, durability, features, battery life Disadvantages: slightly large, dated, no video/images
...to any standard headphones and especially the poor iPod ones. As a sound lover I still bought some aftermarket ones, by creative, the EP630's. This amplified the sound quality by a huge amount. I’m not kidding when I say the sound is comparable to a home sound system, you really have to try it.
-----| FM Radio |-----
Something you won't see on most mp3 players is an FM Radio, namely iPods. The Zen can store 20 preset radio stations, which is more than enough as i don’t even know 20 radio stations. The presets can be renamed to whatever you wish.
You can also record the radio, which is quite a good feature.
-----| Voice Recorder |-----
This is a very good feature and the microphone inside the Zen is very good at picking up sounds clearly. I used the feature to record my classes at school, it can record for as long as you want...
