I ordered these headphones and they came well packaged in a nicely presented box, which clearly stated features and design points about these headphones. I opened the packaging up and tested them:
Design>> These headphones are “Y” shaped and 1.2 metres long. The jack is straight, not “L” shaped and is gold plated. Overall they do not weigh a lot, because the rubber used is not too thick. Some people have mentioned before that the rubber may start to disintegrate, but I have not had this problem. The build quality however is not greatest compared to other headphones as sometimes they do feel fragile, when untangling them The actual ear phone is round and plastic with the rubber part that fits into the ear. There are 3 sizes that come in the box, being the small, medium and finally large. The medium one should fit comfortably in most people, but I had to change them around a few times to find that out. These headphones are also comfortable to wear. When you put them in it may feel weird, but soon after, you will not really notice them at all.
Sound>> To get the best sound out of these headphones they have to be in the ear properly. That took me time to do these were the first pair I had which were in-the-ear style. Once I had them in I noticed immediately that about 90% of the outside noise was removed. (Not ideal when someone is calling you, or walking across the road, ideal when you are in a plane or at home) When I started playing a music track I immediately noticed these have very strong and intense bass, and also that they sounded much, much better than my previous headphones. These headphones also had very clear mids and the lows were also good. The volume has to be put below normal on the mp3 player sometimes as these headphones are loud. They also do not leak sound a lot, so your music is not advertised to the public! In some days where I feel I do not want bass, I just turn the equaliser settings down so the headphones become “tame.” you do however get used to the strong bass and the “in your head” feel of the headphones. You do however get the sound of the cords rubbing together when you move a lot with these on, almost like a stethoscope, but I suppose that cannot be avoided.
I would give it 4.5 starts and not 5 because the first pair I had stopped working on one side around 8 months after I bought them. I got these replaced by creative themselves which was a relatively quick process. Also fine ear wax sometimes gets caught on the mesh of the driver, but it can be removed.
