He wanted £55 for a poxy 5w speaker bar when I paid only £25 for 2 speakers that produce 6w of power output each, plus a 17w subwoofer, all of which not only look the proverbial dogs, but actually well outperform their specifications.
The two main speakers are arched over ... ...I can safely say I'm not a knob fiddler, distortion is not an issue. Need speakers? Buy the Creative Inspire T3100 PC Multimedia Speaker System. It may sound like a new Terminator model but you'll find that it is the best speaker system going and it won't fail to impress. ... more
When I upgraded my monitor recently I was given the option of buying a speaker bar that attached to the top of the screen and I was assured rather unconvincingly by the spotty teenager at the shop that a speaker bar was the future and the model he was trying to flog was the best thing since sliced bread. He wanted £55 for a poxy 5w speaker bar when I paid only £25 for 2 speakers that produce 6w of power output each, plus a 17w subwoofer, all of which not only look the proverbial dogs, but actually well outperform their specifications.
The two main speakers are arched over as you may be able to tell from the picture above, however at the rear of the speakers is the stand adjustment. In the picture above they are at their lowest setting. They can actually be moved up 10cm higher so they can be positioned at ear, or head height. The first time I saw the speakers they reminded me of the speakers I had in my XR2i when I was 18. Oh happy days they were and happy memories are not bad things when the present has you floating back into the past.
As the speakers are wired, a bit like me at the moment, they simply plug into the rear of a PC. I have positioned the two main speakers to either side of my monitor and placed the subwoofer under the desk out of the way due to its large shoebox size. Due to a magnetic shielding in the main speakers they can be placed side to side with a monitor without any interference. Good stuff. There is nothing worse than howling and hissing coming from speakers; it really grates at my nerves.
The sound quality produced by the speakers is wonderful and incredibly clear. The volume controls allow the volume to be increased to eardrum shredding levels while at the same time the sound produced retains perfect clarity with no distortion at all unless you start playing around with the manual knobs. Advantages: Rich sound, adjustable bass, well made. Disadvantages: Lots of wires, subwoofer is very large.
...looked at Logitech, Labtec and Creative branded speakers as I did not really know what to look for and I recognized them as being major brands. I chose the Creative Inspire T3100 speaker system as it had some very good reviews saying that the sound quality was good and I thought it looked stylish.
They cost me £27 (a bargain!) from amazon.co.uk and I had then delivered a few days later. The box they came in wasn't too big, but there was a lot of ... ...ever be necessary, and when the box is still full (of packaging) when the product has been taken out something must be wrong. Included in the box were two speakers, one subwoofer, two speaker stands, a power cable, a quick start guide, support info and safety information. Everything needed was included in the box, which is always good.

I have had many speaker / subwoofer packages in my time and I have to say that this one has proven to rate somewhere in the middle. One thing this product rates highly on is the power of the subwoofer. It provides a huge amount of base, enough to stand even a song such as Protection by Massive Attack (Which I use a general benchmark). The box looks fairly attractive in black and is compact enough to fit nicely under a computer desk.
The speakers ... ...better in the same price range. Also, the speakers do look and feel a little tacky. I also found it a little strange that the power of the subwoofer seems to be far greater than can be coped with by the speakers. However, you can easily plug in your own speakers to the system. The subwoofer has it's own bass and volume control which is useful and because the system is connected to the computer by a headphone jack, it means it can also be connected ...

The Creative Inspire T3100 speakers, are a great addition to any PC or laptop. They have suberb sound quality, and allow users to experience whatever they are viewing on their laptop.
The subwoofer is great for watching DVDs and movies on you computer, and you can get a really good volume out of the speakers.
The great thing is that these speakers will work with anything with a headphone socket. I have used them with my Ipod, MP3 player, TV and ...

Advantages: Sound Quality, Lead Length, Easy Setup Disadvantages: None from what i can see.
Im very impressed with these being only a 2.1 Kit.
I've always had 5.1 speakers but never took advange of these extra 3 speakers, this was brought for me as a present
This was really easy to setup took me 5mins and the sound is excellent considering there is only two speakers and a subwoofer.
The volume control is on the main speaker and is easy to use and i must say you can kick out quiet a sound with this kit.
I played the power ballas nothings ... ...quality is superb along with all other sorts of songs including rock pop an rnb etc.
Comes with Install Instructions if your not quiet sure but didnt need to use them
Base adjuster on the back of the subwoofer for your prefence the leads are quiet long if you want to put them some where in a distance of your kit.
I give this a five out of five and one of my best pressys that was given to me. ...

Advantages: Big Sound little price tag Disadvantages: oversized 3pin plug housing the DC unit - so not easy to plug into a power strip
£37.50 from PC world, absolute bargain, the sound quality is extremely impressive. The bass response from the solid wooden sub--woofer is adjustable, so you can blow your neighbours away if you wish. Watch out for the mains plug - as the DC unit is built into the plug it is extra large - it would not go next to any other plug on a mains strip I use for my PC - so had to run another power strip just to take this mains unit. A nice touch is the headphone ...
