I bought this mp3 player 4-5 years ago and it is still going strong. Durability is definately one of it's great features as I have never had any problems with it. It is however, quite bulky in size and weight, and it's display and interface are very basic. In comparison to the newer model, the Zen Vision:M 30Gb, the Zen NX is like taking a step back in time. The Zen Vision:M is much lighter and comes in various colours, has a larger colour display screen and has touch controls, quite similar to that of an iPod. The Zen NX on the other hand, features a scrolling button to the side and is quite difficult to handle as you have to move the button downwards to scroll and push it in to select a song, and it is often the case that you do both at the same time and select the wrong song, which can be a pain as you have to backtrack. As far as I know, the Zen NX only comes in silver, which is easily scratched and indented. The sheer size and weight of this mp3 player means that it is difficult to carry around in a pocket compared to the newer creative models, the Creative Zen V for example is the same size as your average lipstick. Despite it's disadvantages in appearance, the sound quality is not compensated and is of a very good standard, similar to those of newer models. The original earphones were of excellent quality, but did not last longer than a few months, and in my experience this is the same for all headphones Creative provide. So all in all, if you are looking for a durable mp3 player, at a very reasonable price and are not put off by it's dated exterior, then the NX is for you. But if you're looking for a more up-to-date sleek, easy to handle mp3 player you're better off looking at the newer models that Creative have to offer.
