This device has 512MB of digital memory and can store approximately 260 tracks on it. Although 260 is a lot of music, it does not come close to the hours and hours of music you can store on an iPod.

Advantages: Small and compact, very easy to use, great sound. Disadvantages: Can't get as many tracks on it as an iPod, runs on AAA battery.

This MuVo mp3 player is about the same size as a matchbox. The white colour of this device makes makes it look quite cool. The small screen on it will light up with a luminous blue colour and this looks quite catchy.

What comes in the box? Well first of all there is the white MuVo mp3 player. Then there's a pair of cool looking white earphones. There is great little neck thingie that lets you hang the mp3 player round your neck. It also comes with 1 AAA battery and also the software and the manual.
Do I need a Computer? The simple answer to that is No. This is a good thing about this device is that It has a line-in feature that allows you to record directly from any line-in device when connected to it. This means that you if your Stereo/Hi-Fi system, CD player or cassette player has a line-in feature then you can connect to it using an appropriate cable (which you would need to buy) and this would be stored to it. However, I would not recommend this option, because firstly the sound quality will be very poor and secondly there will be no track names assigned to each track..
Do I need the CD Software that comes with it? Again, the answer is frankly no. I have had this music player for about 2-3 months and I have not even used the CD, I don't even know where it is. Once connected to your computer you simply drag and drop the tracks from your CD or your Music folder onto the MP3 player's drive. Then simply unplug from your computer and the tracks are loaded. You also use it as a memory stick to backup other files as well.
Controls There's only 4 buttons to control the unit, so it is quite easy to use. The button next to the screen is the play and power on/off button. To turn the player on hold it down for a few seconds and the same to turn it off. To play a track simply press and release.
The second control is a scroll wheel, which if you press down will take you to the menu. Then use the left/right scroller to scroll through the menu functions. The main functions are Play Mode, Equaliser, Music, Recorded Tracks and FM Radio.
Play mode: has various play modes such as repeat, shuffle, etc. Equaliser: allows you to customise the sound. It also has a few preset sound settings. Music: select this to play the music Recorded Tracks: select this to play the recorded tracks FM radio: select this to listen to the FM radio.
Battery life I say it is good to invest in a rechargeable battery unit that charges AA and AAA batteries. This will save you a lot of money in the long run. The battery life will depend on the quality of battery you have. The one that comes with it should last you a week or so.
Overall If you can get it for less then £40 then it is a good buy. The white colour is cool, and the controls are easy to use. It has the advantages of an FM radio and a voice recorder. The sound is quite good and the earphones are quite comfortable.
The down side would be that it will not store hours and hours of music.
Advantages: Long battery life, FM radio wth presets Disadvantages: Earphones wire gets tangled easily
...is until I saw the Creative MuVo V200 with 512mb flash memory from Dixons store for £69.99. The fact that it has flash memory means that the battery (It takes 1 x AAA) lasts longer because it doesn't have anything to spin (like a hard disk one would). The bumf says that the battery life is 15 hours. That's about right, maybe a little more but definitely no less. The fact that it's USB2 means basically that you can drag and drop music onto it and ... ...Getting the music onto the Creative MuVo V200 is quite easy… you are supplied with a disc that contains drivers for non XP computers but also on the disc, is software to rip CD's. I found that naming the tracks by (for example, 01 - Track Name), kept them in track playing order in the album folder, otherwise the tracks are played in alphabetical order.
The earphones have a long thin cord that allows you to put the player in your pocket while you're ...

...visible to some people, however creative have used a bright blue backlight which I find helps. now to the buttons...again this is due to its design and the buttons can become very fiddly especially with large hands like myself. The headphones I received with the product weren't great, although they looked a lot better than the earphones you receive with a mp3 player of a similar price I found the plastic protector around the ear part fell off quickly ...

Advantages: Small, lightweight and music transfer from PC is quick Disadvantages: battery drain when not in use
no way to power it from the cigarette lighter, so I need to keep a handy supply of AAA batteries if I am going away for long periods.
Overall I find this to be a great little MP3 player which is easy to use, gives good quality sound and adequate music storage for my needs. I would be happy to recommend the CreativeMuVoV200 to anyone looking for a viable cheap alternative to the ubiquitous iPod. ...
Advantages: Versatility, sound quality, ease of song transfer Disadvantages: Ticky-tacky, low quality make
The Creative Muvo V200 is a budget, compact solution for those on-the-move. The built-in flash memory stick fits into the USB port on your computer, with WindowsXP it is recognised immediately; transfer of songs onto the drive could not be easier - just use drag-and-drop as you would when copying files from one drive onto another. The USB connector is very 'floppy' so extra care has to be taken not to damage the stick. The flash memory can also be used to store any type of data really: images, word-processed documents, videos etc - they just won't be played since the player recognises MP3s and WMAs only.
The player is configurable, it has an enormous amount of options such as the choice of equalizer presets, LCD screen orientation, playlist management etc. Sound quality is just great. Of course, it cannot be compared to ...
Advantages: I GB supplies all your needs Disadvantages: none
Creative Zen is the MP3 players of choice in my household and with all of my friends. This design is no exception to the rest of the brand. Sleek, compact and easy to use. It provides a great sound and holds as many songs as you would require from a MP3 player with this capacity. The price is competitive with other brands of the same quality and is cheaper than the similar ipod system with none of the problems. You get the software needed to begin downloading music with the MP3 player and there is, as always with this type of device, numerous add-ons available. Creative was founded in 1981 in Singapore and became famous for it Sound Blaster sound cards and is now a major player in MP3 players. Their customer service department is excellent if you should ever have the need to use them.
