The first thing you notice about the Jukebox Zen Xtra is that it is noticably larger than most of the other MP3 players on the market, It does however act as an external hard drive so you can use it to store a whole variety of things, not just MP3's. Other than that I liked the way the jukebox looked, the sceen was big and clear and the buttons were well labled so it was easy to just pick up and use.
The instructions you recieve with the player are OK but they are not very in depth, the software is easy to install though and once you have used it it is simple enough. I had a problem with my jukebox where it would lose MP3's I had loaded on to it and the instructions did not tell me how to reset it. I had to look on the creative website which is much better than the instruction book and I wish I had looked there before i started to use the player.
The quality of the sound is very good but the volume of the sound lets this player down. There are several standard sound settings or you can make your own custom setting, according to the genre of music you are listening to. You can save a playlist and it's settings so that it will remember the next time you go to it. The features on the jukebox are user friendly, you can save playlists, search for mp3's by a variety of criteria but unlike other players you cannot use this as a portable radio. As this player is a hard drive you cannot use it when running as the motion can make the hard disk skip or stick.
I got my player when it was just released and it was £250, I only use it as an external harddrive now because I got another MP£ with better volume control. But I cannot complain because for the price I paid, i consider it to be well worth it, Also the player comes with a case to protect it from scratches and also did a good job from protecting it one the odd occasion I have dropped it!!!!!
I have a new creative now which is much improved but I was very pleased with this player and would certainly recommend creative to anyone
