It adds programs for organising your music to controlling your sound. if you wish to use it, the better the man you are, if not, you do not need ... ...huge range of features and programs, a year on I am still doing this. The main ones are the consoles which are console to set up for your games (Game mode), music, dvd's and simular (Entertainment mode) and recording (Audio creation mode). There are enough features to keep even the most advanced user happy and the less advanced entertained for years.

It takes a while with all cables, and feeding them where you want them but once in, power on and install the lenghtly disk. The installation of the disk is the tricky card. You have to make sure that the card and speakers are properly connect before you do this (I found out the hard way). The installation of the disk with all drivers and programs does take a while but there is alot to install. I would recommend to update this via the excellent creative website which offers excellent support if needed, all you need to do is register your card.

Once all set up I would recommend exploring the huge range of features and programs, a year on I am still doing this. The main ones are the consoles which are console to set up for your games (Game mode), music, dvd's and simular (Entertainment mode) and recording (Audio creation mode). There are enough features to keep even the most advanced user happy and the less advanced entertained for years.
For Entertainment
This card in the proper modes will let you hear parts of songs you never heard before. The differnce in the sound is huge. It suports multi channel playback upto 7.1 and this is really an experience. You also have a wide range of features for recording sounds from loads of different sources. It would have you playing around with it for hours and deserves the very best recording equipment.
For DVDs it is also great with positioning of you within the film. With THX, Dolby and DTS features on the card, you would have thought it would be there. It is not, it is well beyond totally immersing you in the film.
For game play
Just like for DVDs, this card will live up to your expectations and exceed them. I play C:SS and since I installed this card, and learned how to use the sound information it has given me, I have improved vastly. It will postion you in the games you play, any game. You may though, out of warning, be accused of cheating for this!!!!
Value for money
Bang for buck, well worth it. No more to say.
Summary
Once first plugged in and fully working the difference in sound quality was OUT OF THE WORLD compared to my usual. It let me hear parts of songs I never heard and can not hear elsewhere. The 24bit crystal is the heart of the card and enables the card to have such a huge power. The programs and features are there to help you control that power in a simple way and use it exaclty how you need it. This card is the ultimate, best value for money and best alrounder out there. If it were not I would have not bought it and stuck with my cheap card.
A word of warning to the wise though get some decent speakersfor biggest impact and I will say this, once you heard the sound from this card, you will never ever be able to go back.
