This product is great for kids awaiting their first MP3 or runners, wanting their small, compact, durable gadget for exercise.
My first impressions of using the Stone were that its quite easy to use. The only thing you need to remember is what the device is trying to tell you. You have to know which type of light on the device means what basically. Uploading songs is a doddle as it is used just like a memory stick where you can just drag your music files into the Drive that appears on 'My Computer' after you plug it in.
I was looking for a small simplistic MP3 when i stumbled across this neat gadget at HMV one day. After having acquired the bulkier Zen Version M for day to day use, I found myself being very uneasy with it's mass and how fragile it might be if dropped or handled carelessly. Version M being Hard drive based while The Stone is a flash; It gave me a perfect idea for a partnership: The Zen duo.
While i use the Zen Version:M for videos, high quality music, impressing my friends.... I use The Stone for events where i just need a small MP3 to carry around so the bulk in my pocket is not too noticeable.
As there is no other product quite like this elsewhere in the shops from other manufacturers (including Apple), it makes this product truly original. As Apple have the Ipod Radio for the only comparison, we don't have that much of an argument.
And at a price ranging from £17.99 to £36.88 in most shops, it is truly value for money when it comes to good cheap MP3s
