Right then, the Creative Zen V Plus 2GB is a very good player to me. I purchased this mp3+mp4 player just before Christmas and first impressions were great, instruction manual very useful so I got familiar with the player very quickly. There is a lot of software that can be put onto your PC but all I use is the Creative MediaSource 5 Organizer and the Zen V Series Media Explorer. But first you want to go onto the Creative product registration and register your product so your warranty becomes valid.
Negatives: To start with, the headphones are a bit big and are like the Ipod headphones which have a very thin stalk on them so can break easily. Mine didn't break because I changed them straight away after realizing the sound quality wasn't very good and the headphones were too big and wouldn't stay in my ears, they kept falling out. I have changed them to my Sony headphones from my Sony Walkman which are a much better fit and have great sound quality. Secondly, the pouch that is provided is made of a very bad fabric on the outside, simply because it sticks to the inside of jean pockets. So when you try and take it out it turns your pockets out. A lot of people wear jeans, especially kids who would probably have this smaller player. I think Creative need to do a bit more research on fabrics used for their pouch and get it changed straight away. Apart from those two negatives I don't think I can find any other ones.
Positives: Now onto the positives, there are plenty of these. To start with, the size of this little player is awesome. It is very small and has a very clear screen if you choose the right colour scheme and background. Personally I have chosen the Peace theme and the red background that comes with the player. This shows the writing up very clearly and is a nice combination. Secondly, once you get used to the buttons, the player is very easy to navigate around. There are a lot of menus to go through but soon gets familiar to you. The PC software is also very easy to use and comes with its own media player which is handy. Next, the battery life on this player is fabulous, it lasts me days even when using it for hours each day. The battery also charges quickly through the USB port on my laptop. It should really come with a mains charger but for me it doesn't matter because I am on my laptop most of the time when I am home so is not a bother to me. Then, the FM radiotuner is brilliant for me, I have tried it sat in my front room and I can get a brilliant signal of the local radio station based about 5 miles away. Very clear sound. I have not yet tried the FM radio tuner out of my house. Also, this player comes with a microphone so you can record absolutely anything you want and it has a record button located on the right hand side, below the volume buttons so you can just hold that button and it will take you straight to the recording menu ready for recording straight away just in case you suddenly have something you want to record. I find it very useful and it picks up sound very well. Finally, the DJ is brilliant. It studies the music you listen to and then you can select one of four options: Album of the day, Random play all, Most popular and Rarely heard. These are all based on what you have listened to during the day and how many times you have listened to that song in total.
So to sum this player up I think that it is a very good little player that comes with a lot of features for it's price. Once you change the headphones, the sound quality is excellent. All in all an excellent player and I recommend this to potential buyers. Cheers, Stu

Advantages: Easily portable, slick design, super video quality, powerful recording. Disadvantages: Video files take too much space, earphone and battery life could be better.
