The feel of the PMP is notably clumsier than ipods from Apple. Though functionally very astute and slick. My interpretation on this MP3 player reminds me of the first pace-maker in the mid 1990's. I've always been interested in these types of PMP component packages whether it's a standard screen model, or whether it is HD quality or touchscreen quality. The OLED screen definition is very good, sheer gloss and glamour which is very user friendly; it has a Nokia feel for me; not surprising really as both companies originated in the East and Chinese market before setting their sights on the Western digital market.
The 2cms X 2cms squared screen is of very high quality and holds it's own in the function stakes. The MP3 Player only is compatible with JPEG customary images. That you can load off from a digital camera, the PC, or from the internet itself. The audio quality is crystal clear, of course depending on the size of file the MP3 file as the higher the size of the file the better the quality. The one thing that saddened me with this product was the fact that it has limited file recognitions.
**Software included: MediaSource - MediaExporer - ZenCast Organiser ** The Zen does have some excellent features that do include these free PMP applications that comes with the package.
PLEASE NOTE > NO - MT - Mobile Technology functions are available with this product. ** No MP4 converting or encoding is available**. For any songs that have been downloaded onto your PC from paid music sites (Protected by copyright) will be able to be played by this MP3 Player
- 8GB of music storage -
I find the 8GB is sufficient to play over a 10000 MP3 music tracks. The transfer rates are fast due to the fast USB transfer fast - track Windows music browser software. What is a noticeable difference is that it is not an ipod. There are not so many features nor as stylish and slick. Naturally, there is no iTune extravaganza, with freebies and membership options that Apples ipod do include. In my opinion there is only one iPod MP3 player. No-one can emulate it. If, you're an iPod fanatic this MP3 player could put your nose out of joint; it carries a slightly clumsy portable player look and feel than Apples' iPod marketing dream machine. The display is of good quality but now looks a little outdated; amazing really as it is only 10 months old. Just shows how quickly this market turns over digital products and designs.

- Size matters -
Weighing in at 44g - Yes this is a hefter, no it has not put on weight since the beginning of 2007. It is just that Zen V Plus is not part of the nano technology revolution. 2007 is the year where nano popped over to the UK and gave out the Werthington humbugs; thanks nano.

Yes, please take note; the 8GB is a fanastic amount of digital MP3 space for a start. The voice-recording is a fab utility - please try it; I did it was a revelation. Extreme quality; not that I like my own voice of course, though it does help. External recordings again superb. Ideal accessory for a pop concert maybe. Sending love poems to your sweetheart. No bucket is included with the PMP and ear phones; so keep it clean.

I'm going to give this PMP a 6/10 overall. Not a favourite of mine even though functionally superb and has some very favourable attributes as mentioned.
Advantages: Stylish, compact and great sound. Disadvantages: Sometimes freezes, screen quality.
When I first saw it I thought it was good looking and cute. Its plastic makes it very smooth and ergonomic. I bought it from Currys for £40 I think. The menu is easy to use and although small, the joystick is very easy to use aswell. The earphones in the box are okay but I'd rather use my Sennheisers. The software is okay but when transferring songs I use Windows Media Player, just drag and drop. The line in feature is good too but you can't rename ... ...songs but if you are desperate then line-in and record. Making playlists is fairly easy but naming them takes alot of time. You enter one letter at a time, each time goeing up or down a very long list of letters. It displays album art only if you have them in Windows Media Player. I had a problem with them as they kept dissapearing after transferring more songs onto the mp3, they still do. I have to perform a clean-up to get them back. Also, the ...

The good things about this mp3 player is that it is very small and light but also packs a 8GB memory. The display also offers great detail on such a small screen but can be hard to read in bright light and although the player can play videos, this function is pretty much useless because the screen is so small. The casing material can very easily smudge with finger prints but atleast you will never see scratches, makes the constant wiping acceptable. ... ...makes this player very reliable and it is easily charged through usb to a PC, it cannot play music while charging.
The navigational stick and buttons are very simple and requires virtually no time to get use to.
You can also record directly onto it without using a PC. It has a line in so that cd's can be put onto it through this. And it also has a built in microphone.

The creative zen, a perfect mix between functionality, design and durability. All be it slightly bulkier than the well known 'ipod', this doesnt prevent the creative zen from being just as good if not better I feel that ipods are old and the creative bring a new side to mp3 players. It is very easy to use, with seperate categories for artists, albums, single tracks, albums, and then other categories for pictures, radio, and tools. The creative zen ... ...be very good on the creative zen especially when the volume is at the highest with a large amount of base aswell. Finally, the software included with the mp3 player to allow you to transfer files to your mp3 player is extremely simple for even the least clued up about computers can use this easily.
One other bonus of this is that these can be bought quite cheaply now so it makes the deal even sweeter! ...

...to do with interference. The only other problem is that it very occasionally freezes, which is a problem I had with previous creative mp3 players that I've owned. It's easily fixed by resetting, but can be a bit annoying if you're out and about and don't have a pin handy... ...

Why follow the crowd and buy an ipod when you can have so much more for your money, 8MB storage, colour screen, video, sound recording etc. This mp3 player is very robust and does not seem to get scratched even plonked in a bag with no case. I have had mine for over a year and it still looks like new. It is easy to use although the scroll down could be faster. The colour screen is small but very readily visible. Battery life is very good unless the ... ...switching between albums will drain the battery very quickly. Overall it is a very nice little player, sits nicely in the hand and is nice and small. In fact I like it so much that if I were to manage to break it tomorrow I would replace it with another of the same. ...
