The Creative Zen, in my opinion, is a very good MP3 player which could quite easily give the Ipod nano a run for its money. The sound quality of the Creative Zen, I believe is far superior to that of an Ipod. Although it may not look as impressive, it is a neat looking piece of technology; very sleek and stylish looking. Also, It is neither masculine nor feminine and therefore suits everyone! The Zen also plays videos and again, the quality is good. It has a 2.5 inch screen, larger than the Ipod nano at 2 inches.
The software that comes with the Creative Zen is really good, allowing you to put any file onto your Zen as it converts them for you. A massive advantage, in my opinion, is that the Zen comes with a SD card expansion slot so if you only buy the 4GB Zen, you can increase the capacity at a later date, up to 12GB which is better than the nanos maximum 8GB capacity. Furthermore, the Zen has an FM radio on it which is a nice addition. Another plus point is that the menus are very easily to navigate around which is good. The battery life is very good, seems to last a long time before it needs to be charged. Charging is very easily, using the same short cable as used when putting files onto the Zen.
One disadvantage of the Zen, I would say, is that is can freeze from time to time (quite rarely but still inconvenient) and when this happens it needs to be reset by pressing a very tiny button. Luckily, I wear earrings and so used one of these to reset it but I imagine this could be tricky for someone to do who doesn't have on them such an item. Also, the buttons aren't the best as they click a bit when you press them but this isn't a problem and I quickly got used to them.
Overall a very good player with very few disadvantages.
