The Creative Zen Micro photo 8GB is wonderful. I love it. I would definetly recommend it to anyone.
Firstly, the appearance of the micro is very modern and eye catching. The controls and the rim glow blue and the player comes in many colours to suit everyone's tastes. The display on the screen is easy to read and can be personalised with a stored photo or by changing the background colour.
Installing the Micro photo (along with the programs associated with it) is very simple. There is an easy to follow step by step installation CD which makes life so much easier for those of us who have little knowledge of computers! The player plays mp3 format music and so no extra programs are needed to change the format of music files from windows media player or equavilant music players.
Putting music on the player is also very easy. Simply click and drag the files from your music folder into the Zen Micro Photo music folder. I couldn't believe how easily and quickly i could transfer my music! compared with other mp3 players i have used this one is definetly the easiest to work.
The photo part of the player is not in my opinion well explained. The player only stores photos which you can put onto it from your computer, this process is as easy as transferring the music files. The itself DOES NOT take photos.
The sound quality on this mp3 player is outstanding. I feel that it is better than any other music player i have heard. Yes, even the ipod! The sound is clear and the volume levels are easy to adjust and not too loud that they blast your head off like some mp3 players!
I paid £100 for this player almost exactly one year ago and feel that although it was good value for money there are other players on the market at a lower price.
Being slightly clumsy, i have on occasions dropped my Zen micro. This does not seem to bother it in the slightest! i can't even see any scratches on the casing. It stays in my pocket pretty much all the time or in my school bag and there are no scratches on the screen after a year, even with frequent use.
The only dissadvantages to the Zen Micro Photo that i can think of are,
The scroll bar in the middle takes a while to get used to but is very easy to use once you get the hang of it!
The battery life could be better, mine needs charging every few days because i use it frequently.
The confusing name which suggests that the player can take photos.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
(+) Av Output to plug to a TV, built-in speakers, easy to use. Come with very good earphones (-) Does not come with power supply (easy to charge from the PC though), av cable is sold separately
I'd like to know more. Such as what's the sound quality like? Is it durable, does it feel like it will be ok if you drop it? I don't really understand the photo part, is it just for storing and viewing photos or can you take pictures as well? How much is it? Drop a note in my GB if you update the review.
