The Zen V is a stunning device. It is very attractive. The Zen V has a glossy black surface and comes with 3 or 4 colour trims. Creative have been very intelligent and sctually related this colour to the capacity of the Zen v. It is smaller than any other of the Zen players, and it's also very comfortable to hold and have in your pocket. One way to describe it? I'd say elegant. Zen V models aretwice as thick as the iPod Nano, they are shorter, just as light, and just feel right in yuor hand. A small joystick and buttons control navigation. t boasts a scratch -resistant screen and fascia which has been developed because received lots of complaints about the previous Zen visions. This of course is very useful. The Zen V is practical because you can rotate the screen to any angle. The colour is just amazing, absolutely stunning. I think this is what creative really strive to produce- players with absolute stunning colour. The screen 1.5" which I think is a little small, however, if you're not bothered about the size of screen and are more interested in having music and a small amount of pictures then this doesn't matter. Also the screen is easily viewable inside, but outdoors it is hard to see. The battery life says it's 15 hours, but to be honest, I don't really think this is true. After 9 hours of listening, I have to recharge, this may be due to the fact that I didn't charge it for long enough the first time.
Zen V comes in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities. It features- date/time, a calendar, contacts database, organiser and microphone. In addition a line-in function allows you to connect an external music source like a CD player and convert and transfer songs. There is also a DJ function which allows random selection of tracks or albums for you, or play your most popular or rarely heard tracks to add a bit of variety to your playlists. Zen V does not deature an FM tuner or video player. If you want these functions, you should get Zen V plus.

The V Plus includes a standard mini-USB port on top of the device. Unfortunately, sync speed isn't fast. It can take a long time to put songs on. Leave it while you're doing something else and it's fine.
I enjoy using the Zen V becasue it just fits in your hand perfectly. I've had my Zen V for about 4 months and I haven't scratched it once. It's pretty much unscratchable. The sound quality is superb.
I like the Zen because it has an easy interface, is attractive, lighweight and practical and the qualoity is superb. It's also a nicer price than Ipod. Look around for prices. :-)

So heres the scenario. You want an MP3 player that basically works the same as an Ipod. Whereby it neatly organises your music into sections, where changing between tracks is effortless and quick, where you can store plenty of your favourite songs. However, the Ipod Nano, which is essentially the Zen's most relevant rival, is a little bit out of your league ... ...I came across the Creative Zen. It appeared to be very similar to the Nano. The basic setup was the same, tracks were organised into artist, albums, etc. In fact it appeared exactly the same as the Itunes system on my ROKR. It won me over. For the sake of £50 (£20 cheaper than the equivalent Nano, enough for a few beers on the way home) I thought it was worth a try.

I recently bought a Zen v plus 4gb from Amazon. It was only about £91. My husband has the Zen 20gb and loves it.
The Zen v plus 4gb holds around 2,000 according to the box, I haven't filled it up yet, i've only put 140 tracks on.
