I bought this thing because my old tatty mp3 player with a smashed up screen stopped working. i bought a few really cheap things before it but they didn't really work, one even crashed my computer every time i plugged it in so i opted to spend a bit more and hopefully get something a bit better. usually i think you're paying more just for a brand name but not in this case. overall i love the thing, it fits my needs really well and every time i use it i genuinely think what a good buy it is. The only reason it's four star is because ideally i'd have a matte surface. i'm also a little worried i'll break it because I'm very clumsy and I don't know that it's up to it. Sound quality
excellent with the right headphones. The headphones supplied aren't bad. Even my boyfriend said they were good for ones that come with the MP3 player and as a bass player he is usually very critical of anything that music comes out of.
Ease of use
"Transferring data" - There's some software you have to install to use the mp3 player. This can be annoying if you want to use it on someone else's computer. Also you have to connect it with a cable which is obviously very bad if you're likely to lose it. I haven't used the sync method. I prefer good old drag and drop - which it fully supports, contrary to reviews I've read. the video converter is great, it's handled everything I've thrown at it and gives you the option to fill the screen or keep it widescreen. "playback" - I've had no problems with playback, audio or visual. "interface" - The main reason I love this MP3 player is just how intuitive it is to use and the amount of options it gives you. you can search for things by different categories which is good for me because i like to play by artist, album and genre.
look and design
other than the shininess i like it, but you can make your own mind up from the pictures. it fits really well in my hand and the buttons are all really well placed.
video quality
video quality is about as good as you can expect for this size player/screen. it's good enough for me but some people might find it too small. I wouldn't advise it if you're wanting it to watch action movies or anything on, or if you're choosing it as an alternative to a portable DVD player or something similar. having the option to cut the sides off your videos to fill the screen is a really good option.
range of features
it is what is says it is. you can watch Videos, listen to audio files and receive radio which is all most people really want. it's also got some useful functions such as phone book, which comes in handy when your mobile runs out of battery and you need to use a phone booth. it's got a scheduler that I could see being useful and if you don't mind leaving speakers on all night it's also got an alarm. No games or anything but do you really want them?
Durability
I've dropped and stood on this thing on gravel and it scratched the screen quite badly. It's been thrown about a bit and dropped a few times. it goes everywhere in the bottom of my bag and has only got minor scratches and the one large one. it's faired pretty well but I have been careful with it because it doesn't seem overly rugged. might be worth investing in a protective case.
value for money
I payed about £80 for this and I never regretted it. It's only £60 in Argos at the moment so a real bargain!
