The model we have is the Creda Compact 37275 but when you hear the story, you will see why the 37371 is its nearest descendant.
The story begins in 1978 !
One tiny daughter is already causing disruption in our home, and her little sister is about to make her appearance on the world stage in three weeks time.
No-one has invented an alternative for terry nappies. There will soon be a dozen on the liine, morning, noon and night.!
As a loving father, I don't mind changing them and even soaking them and washing them.!
But how do you get them dry in the depths of a Belfast winter.?
Appearance.?
Functions ?
It was designed to handle 6.5 llbs of cotton wash.
Safety ?
Cost ?
Total cost was about £50, though that was a fair chunk of money in the early 70's !! £17.90 deposit, and then a monthly payment on our electric bill.??Reliability ?
About 9 years later, we had a problem. The drum was not turning properly.! As an amateur fixer of things, I delved inside and discovered a large rubber belt which turns the drum, was worn out.! A quick trip to the local parts supplier got me home with a replacement for about £5.From that day to this, we have had nothing go wrong with it.!!!
The paint inside the machine has flaked, the lint filter gets cleaned once in a blue moon ! - but that's the lot.
Future ?
At 25 years and a bit, this machine should really go into some electrical hall of fame.! If Creda officials are reading, I'll do a deal !

What a great machine – certainly value for money!. Sadly I don’t have room for a tumble dryer and the combi machines just don’t make the grade!! Jane x
