vanquis credit card for people with little or no credit rating

Advantages: Helpful staff, use the card anywhere, pay back on time no problem
Disadvantages: High apr, credit builders card

...I myself have a vanquis credit card, and i receive 34.9% apr and 39.9% apr on cash withdrawls, i never have had a problem with them, always making the payments on money that i have spent or atleast the minimum payment, they have just increased my limit to £1,250 because i keep to my payment schedule, treat it like any other card, and its fine, pay your balance off early and you wont even notice the apr. Just remember your a big risk if you cant get ...

Incompetent Barclaycard Customer Service

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Cutomer Service

...and incompetent customer service from Barclaycard in India. A week ago, I took out a tial 3-day subscription with a website (download-provider.com) and paid the $4 fee with my Barclaycard. I intended from the start to cancel the subscription before 3 days as I knew that if I did not, there would be a recurring monthly charge of $37. However, I never received a confirmation email rom the website, nor any information regarding how to unsubscribe, ...
...to me. I therefore called Barclaycard (a call centre in India) immediately to tell them about the situation and to cancel my card in order to prevent any fraudulent transactions being made. At this point, there were no suspicious transactions on my account and as I was assured that the card had been cancelled, I believed I was in the clear. Relief. However, I logged onto my account last night and found, to my utter dismay, that my card was still ...

To Egg or not to Egg?

Advantages: Good customer service, Discount Rewards
Disadvantages: Discounts change and other cards have better rewards

...first decided to get an Egg Credit Card to take advantage of a 0% Interest Balance Transfer (BT) about 2-3 years ago. This was so that I could buy a £1,000 laptop (Samsung Q35). The interest free period was only 6 months but that's all I needed to pay off the balance. I think the BT fee was about 2.5% back then. It's a bit higher now, circa 3% in line with other credit card providers. They also have a 0% on purchases offer on the same card, at the ...

ACCOUNT FACILITIES Logging in involves providing your first name, last name, date of birth, postcode and then your security details such as your mother's maiden name followed by your password. The first four details can be 'Remembered' on your PC so you don't have to keep entering them if you use the account frequently although this is not recommended on public or shared ...

Amex Platinum Credit Card with Cashback - Mostly Excellent

Advantages: Customer services, cashback bonus
Disadvantages: Not acceped everywhere, high APR if you carry a balance

...to be a lot of American Express Products under this category so I'll clarify which one I am reviewing: The Platinum Credit Card with Cashback. It's a very nice-looking card with a kind of hologram type effect over the whole of the front. There's not really an image as such, just a rainbow effect if the light catches it at the right angle. For any physicist-types out there, I'd say it's probably just a diffraction grating :) Pluses: Customer Services ...
...the direct debit and wouldn't help - meant I could still afford the finer things in life - like food, shelter etc. The Cashback bonus made me £79 over the last 12 months - money for nothing. The more you spend the higher the payback is - 0.5% if you spend up to £3,500; 1% if you spend up to £10k; 1.5% if you spend more than £10k. Don't go mad though :) Automatic repayment of the entire balance means it works like a charge card (no interest) without ...

Tesco credit card - An ideal way of treating yourself on a budget

Advantages: Once set up, very easy to use and lots of ways to spend your vouchers
Disadvantages: Need the money to pay it off in full so you don't get charged interest

We love our Tesco credit card. We place all purchases on it and then pay it off on direct debit every month. You get 1 point for every £4 you spend anywhere. So if booking a holiday or paying for something expensive, or just everyday expenses it can really add up. We use our points for meals out and holidays away. Luxuries that we would not be able to afford without the vouchers. Don't spend the vouchers in store, where £2.50 is worth £2.50. On the ...
...for £20 in vouchers, costs us just £5, less than you can buy a Macdonalds for. The vouchers last 6 months so I keep them in my bag and when we're out and fancy a meal out we chose a restaurant etc. There are many to choose from, Pizza Express, Prezzos etc. Weekends away now require 2 nights booking, but can make a lovely break that does not cost a fortune. Its so easy and such an easy way of getting some extra money to spend. Summary: I would recommend ...
