I had heard about crème de la mer in the press & looked at the price & thought how ridiculously overpriced. Even though I was intrigued I thought there's no way I can justify spending that much. However things were about to change - fast forward to 3 years later & I have had the worst skin problems with spots & scarring - they seemed never ending & I was beginning to get fed up of always having horrible skin. Then one day complaining to a friend she recommended using crème de la mer. She has been using it for about 5 years & has the most amazing skin - so off I went to Selfridges & got the 30ml pot - I thought I don't want to splash out too much so I thought I'll use this size to try it out. I've been using the creme morning & night on recommendation of my friend to get maximum benefits - this has worked very well for me.
It also comes with a spatula so you know how much you're using & you dont get bacteria from your hands into the jar.
Results: Its been a month now & I have to say I have been amazed by what its done. At first I didn't really notice what it was doing to my skin & I was getting a lot of compliments from people about how good my skin was looking. I hadn't told anyone that I was using this cream as I wanted to know if it really worked. Its given my skin life & gives it a very nice glow. As for my spots - what spots??!!! They've all stopped - I cant believe it. I noticed it took away a lot of the redness from the scars left by spots & now im just waiting for the scars to start diminishing. Which fingers crossed will be soon. It has also smoothed out some fine lines I could see appearing.
The Blurb: Crème de la Mer's Miracle Broth™ is suspended within its extraordinary formula. To activate the broth and release its key ingredients, warm a small amount between your fingertips. As you pat onto clean, dry skin, you will instantly feel the soothing effects of the broth. Smooth over your face, neck, even under the fragile eye area. Miracle Broth is made up of sea kelp, magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, lethecin, vitamins C, E and B12, and a combination of citrus, wheat germ, alfalfa and sunflower oils. It takes 3-4 months to ferment in order to make this product so special & every jar is hand filled.
I have found the texture to be just right for my skin & I try & put it on & leave it to sink in before putting on my make up - or at night I try & put it on at least an hour before going to bed to make sure my skin gets the benefits of it. Once on skin feels very smooth and it provides a nice base for make up. Some of the reviews have said that its too thick but I haven't found this - as you need to rub the cream on your hand until its gone clear before applying. The scent is inoffensive & very light - I've used creams like decleor before which has a strong scent but personally I don't like that & I don't feel like something with a heavy scent can be good for your skin.
If you are looking to get this crème I would suggest going on the crème de la mer website & finding a place which stocks it near you & asking for a sample to use. A sample size should last for at least a week & it'll give you an idea what it can do for your skin as it is a lot of money to pay for a face cream. Failing that then buy a sample on ebay - although not ideal - you'll get a sample for less than £5 and spending that is better than spending £80 on a cream which wont do much for you.
I think if you have good skin it might enhance the look of it but wont provide dramatic results - I think you'd be able to find a cream by Estee lauder, Clarins etc to do this for you. However if you have problematic skin like I have I think you'll see the best results. For me I would buy this again because this is the longest I've gone without any spots in quite some time & I rather enjoy it!! I would recommend it to people but I would urge people to try before buying as it is a lot of money. The way I look at it is - some people have a facial every month - instead of that I've bought a cream which would cost the same as 2 facials. This pot should last me 3 months and I see better results than if I was to have a facial.
PS - just a tip - once ive put it on my face & have residue on my hands I put it on my lips - it makes them amazingly smooth in an instant!!
Wish I could afford it - probably not a good idea for me to get a sample cos if it made my skin perfect, i STILL wouldnt be able to afford it and THEN i would feel bad. P x

This sounds so good but also so expensive. Good tip about the sample first. :)

Advantages: Does seem to leave your skin feeling very soft - revised, please see extra comments below Disadvantages: Very expensive, seems difficult to get hold of, can be greasy on the skin
