Shocking news - Rib 'n' saucy Nik Naks are vegetarian
Advantages: Tasty (but only if you like that kind of thing), vegetarian, dairy free Disadvantages: Synthetic flavour, not very healthy
(N.B. The product has been taken over by KP now, but it always tasted like this. Cross-posted from dooyoo) Nik Naks are a knobbly corn snack. As far as I can tell, this is just a posh way of saying "unusual shaped crisp". They come in several flavours, each as artificial as one another, but this review is about the Rib 'n' saucy flavour, because that's what I had with my lunch. For those of you who have never seen a Nik Nak, the pack does tell it ... ...sticks of corn": the fried corn sticks are a yellowy-orange colour and they vary between about 1cm-3cm in length and 0.5cm to 1cm in cross-section and they are, indeed, exceedingly knobbly. The texture of the sticks is fairly solid and both crisp and crunchy; they aren't puffed corn, so they don't just melt in your mouth, but they aren't brittle like potato crisps, so they don't break into sharp pieces that get stuck between your teeth; nor are they ...

Blow their own horn
Advantages: Taste good, no nasty greens ones, pretty addictive Disadvantages: Flavouring off sometimes, packet size, availability
...Now I never normally like Golden Wonder crisps (well except for a brief desire for Wotsits).
I guess the reason they are called Bugles is because they are in fact shaped like bugles (those loud little trumpet like instruments), so basically they are cone shaped.
Despite being out for a year or two, they still advertise them as being new.
In school, we had a Golden Wonder crisp machine, but for some reason they never had them in there, which was ... ...is that recently Wotsits, another Golden Wonder product have changed to Walkers. Now I guess Walkers have brought out Golden Wonder. The reason I have mentioned this is because that may be the reason it has been difficult to get Bugles sometimes.
Due to the size of the bags, and the amount in them, I would think they are pretty cheap, between 25-35p (1g per penny :) )
The multipacks I would imagine being anywhere between £1-£1.50
The best place ...

Go on, grab a bag and get making a tune!
Advantages: Great taste, cheap if purchased as part of a multipack. Disadvantages: Does not state if suitable for vegetarians.
...snack brands owned by the Golden Wonder parent and the usual nutritional information. This product is not suitable for anybody who is allergic to milk, wheat or gluten and is produced on a line handling egg, soya & mustard. Upon opening the bag you are met with about 25 wheat tubes and hit instantly with the bacon flavouring smell. The tubes are just under an inch on average and are amazingly crunchy. The bacon flavouring is just right in my opinion ... ...after eating this particularly flavour and it repeats on me for the rest of the day. There was one "tube" in my bag which tasted almost burnt and seemed to be lacking any flavouring (may just have been overpowered by the burnt taste!) so that was a slight disappointment but luckily it wasn't the last crisp that I ate so it was alright as I had something else to munch to mask the nasty taste. There are 125 calories & 6.8g of fat per 25g bag so these ...

Bring back the Beef!
Advantages: So damn tasty Disadvantages: No longer made!
This review is dedicated to my old friend and favourite crisp, the Beefy Wotsit..
I don't know why they did it, but they stopped making beefy wotsits, it was bad enough when they replaced Bacon with Prawn cocktail, yuck!
Even though I'm vegetarian, I loved Beefy wotsits, and that was my meat fix!
They were orange with brown speckles, and the taste was second to nothing, they were really strong, and tasty, plus, they used to come with jokes on ...

Keep the Potato Skins On!
Advantages: Tasty, light, potato skins are left on, some slightly unique flavours. Disadvantages: I've found them to be hard to find in the shops and get hold of.
***INTRO***
Golden Wonder have been around for about 60 years and are well-known. Their 'Skins' range however is nowhere near as well- known as their other ranges (perhaps because these are their newest product). Golden Wonder also make:
- Wheat Crunchies
- Ringos
- Nik Naks
- Golden Light
- Golden Wonder Crisps
***WHAT ARE GOLDEN WONDER 'SKINS'?'***
Put simply they are thick crisps made with the potato skins left on. They come in the following ... ...Salt and Vinegar
Salt and Black Pepper
NB: Please don't make the same mistake as me and eat the 'Pepperoni and Cheese Crisps' if you are vegetarian. I read the pack after eating them to find they were unsuitable for vegetarians. My favourite flavour 'Skins' are the Mexican Chilli. This is because I like spicy foods and they are really tasty.
***THE GOOD POINTS***
- Crunchy Crisps.
- Tasty.
- Unusual flavours like Mexican Chilli.
- Just seem ...
