After Hammond (our Syrian Hamster) had been living in his savic cage for a little while it became apparent that he was getting very bored (despite the number of toys in there!) so we decided to purchase a couple of CritterTrail cages for him and interconnect them.
One of the cages that are connected is the CritterTrail X (other is the space station looking one) and they appear (for now) to have stopped Hammonds boredom and given him a new play area to explore.
The cage at first was difficult to assemble as the instructions were poor and it did feel rather flimsy but after it was all assembled it felt ok.
The water bottle that comes with the cage is very difficult to fill but does the job.
There appears to be a problem with the door, as Hammond managed to open it a few days ago, i'm not sure wether this is a design fault ...

After giving up on our old hamster cage as it had pritty much bit the dust me and the girls started looking around for a new cage to house our family of mice, my daughters fell in love with this dazzlecritter cage as soon as they spotted it, there was no reasoning with them it was going to have to be this cage.
Firstly let me say that critter make lots of different designs of cages not just the one we have brought and they make them in a wide range of colour, sizes and prices so there should be something for every one.
Our cage is the super pet critterdazzle hamster cage although it has mice in it in our house. It has a very high base which i am especially pleased with as this means when my family of mice start tearing around there cage like looneys the saw dust stays in the cage and not all over my sides. I would like to tell you about my sons newest Gerbils abode. After months of him persuading me why this was the perfect house on the market for his beloved pet i finally relented and took out a mortgage to buy his furball the ultimate in adesigner luxury pad.
Chewy as we had called the gerbil was previously living in a mansion (the old chipmonk cage) but this was just to big for my sons room and cleanng out times was a nightmare. The bigger the cage the bigger the mess right ?
Thats when my son spotted this little number on the pet stall in the market. I think it was the colours that attracted him and the space wheel on the top.
