I would like to tell you about my sons newest Gerbils abode. After months of him persuading me why this was the perfect house on the market for his beloved pet i finally relented and took out a mortgage to buy his furball the ultimate in adesigner luxury pad.
Chewy as we had called the gerbil was previously living in a mansion (the old chipmonk cage) but this was just to big for my sons room and cleanng out times was a nightmare. The bigger the cage the bigger the mess right ?
Thats when my son spotted this little number on the pet stall in the market. I think it was the colours that attracted him and the space wheel on the top.
The CritterTrail X is the extreme activity home for all critters (hamsters, mice, gerbils, rats and any other small rodent), comes complete with its own exciting, extractable petting zone which also doubles up as a holding zone when yu want to dissinfect the cage.
The cage is a four-in-one extreme fun centre which comes complete with water bottle that slips into a channel on the top of the cage (so no more bottles stuck to the side of the cage being held on with a piece if wire, this results in less noise when drinking). Food dish is supplied and the Extreme wheel too. Now looking at that wheel on top makes me wish i was a little critter. In order to gain access to the wheel is a thick plastic spiral slide that the critter is supposed to climb on and then up the tube and into the Extreme wheel compartment.
The Extreme wheel is really great because as the critter is running around the wheel the wheel is actually orbiting. So the critter gets 360 degrees of safe, rail-riding which due to the colour of this product glows in the dark !
The base of the cage is quite deep which is good as your critter makes less mess. The plastic base is odour and stain resistant and boasts high sides to stop the scattering of food nd droppings on your surfaces.
The cage is wired on all four sides to allow air ventilation and also permits us to watch our beloved criters playing.
Thepetting zone at the top of the cage is accessed via a U shaped funnel from the base. Ths is where your critter is supposed t come to greet you and accept tid-bits etc, but our critter uses this area to sleep in and spends many hours arranging its bedding. This area is great as it easily departs the cage area and you can put a cap underneath to stop the critter escaping. This then allows full cleaning and dissenfecting of the other areas of the cage.

What i really like about this product is the modern colors. The one we have is purple and green. I like the fact that when the critter has been using the wheel if its had an accident all spillage are caught in the wheel runners. All i do is spray the runner with dissinfectant and easily wipe out the mess.The cage is easily expandable with options of further purchasing add-ons for this product. I am quite nervous of these critters so the petting zone comes in really handy for cage cleaning times which means i dont need to handle the actual pet itself.
The only downfall this product does have is that within 2 days the gerbil had started to gnaw and eat the plastic spiral slide, so this was removed.The gerbil can stil easily access its wheel by climbing up the cage bars to the wheel tunnel.

The CritterTrail X is made by Superpet .It is made in China to the exact design specifications of Pets International, USA. The patent for this cage is still pending and is made from recycleable materials.
