Crossing Over. The Stories Behind the Stories. By John Edward.

This book in a kind of way follows on from 'One Last Time'. I say ‘follows on’ I maybe should say explains in MORE detail some of the stories mentioned in his first book. He is not just elaborating more on old stories, as there are new stories that have happened since his first book was published in 1998. This book also takes you behind the scenes of his life, his work and his television programme ‘Crossing Over with John Edward’.

You can read about while he was on his way to becoming an internationally celebrated psychic medium, he learnt his own lessons about the meaning of his work. You will read about some of the people who came to John and also the spirits that accompanied them. For example you will read about a songwriter from Tennessee who receives a message from his famous father. This messages goes on to then set off an extraordinary and amazing chain of events. These events eventually lead to a discovery in a Dallas memorabilia store. That is all I am saying about that event. (Sorry)

Here is another taster for you….

A school teacher, who teaches Science, leaves her dying grandfather who is living in a nursing home, to attend a group reading by John. Half an hour into the group reading she receives a message from her grandfather……

In his first book, he tells the reader that before his mother died of cancer, they arranged that he would not accept a message from another medium/psychic unless certain things were done…… In this book he continues to tell you about his quest for a message from his mother.

While reading this book, I found it to be filled with wit, passion, and warmth. He talks about his personal appearances candidly. Some stories are poignant and very funny. It is not all ‘happy as Larry’ there are the stories where he has met the unbelievers, the sceptics, and the hecklers. He talks about controversial issues that he has encountered.

This book contains over 260 pages of the following:

About the Author.

Now I am not about to give anything away, as this is on the back cover on the sleeve of the book.

An Excerpt from Crossing Over

About halfway through my talk, a tall woman in a long coat entered and walked along the back wall. She came in unobtrusively, but she had a dark energy that everyone in the room seemed to sense. People turned to look at her as she made her way left to right and found a place to stand in the corner. Okay, this might be a problem, I thought as I kept talking. Her negative energy was so strong that she was blocking out spirits that I had felt on that side of the room before she entered.

Then the woman screamed out, “Where’s the proof?”

Everyone turned to look.

“You can’t prove this scientifically! This is nonsense!”

The audience started murmuring. A man yelled at her, “Go write your own book. Shut up or leave.”

“You’re all stupid fools!”

This woman was my first heckler. Before it got too ugly, I stepped in. “Wait, wait,” I said. “This woman obviously has her own belief system, or disbelief system. So why not listen? I always tell people to keep their scepticism. I’m not here to convince anyone of anything, but lets entertain her questions. But first” – I looked at her – “I have just one question for you. Do you believe in God?”

“No”

“Well, then I don’t think I can help you, because this is something that is driven by a belief in God. It’s the energy from that force that I think allows us to create this energy”

The people applauded, and I got back to the audience. I closed my eyes, breathed deeply and rubbed my hands. “I’m coming over here,” I said, walking to my right toward a middle-aged woman. I noticed that a man had been sitting with her, but had gotten up and left. The woman acknowledged a few things. Meanwhile, Darth Vader was rolling her eyes. I tried to stay focused. It’s your daughter who’s coming through, I told the woman. She’s saying she was murdered. But she wants you to know she is safe on the other side. The woman validated virtually everything I told her over the next few minutes. “I only wish my husband was still here to hear this” she said finally.

“I did” came a soft voice from an unseen corner of the room.

I read this book in four days….. Now what does that tell you?
