Advantages: You Will Never Lose It & It IsCheap Disadvantages: Extremely Big & Extremely Slow
...I have an Archos AV420, and I needed some extra memory. It has an external Compact Flash (CF) slot, so I bought a 1GB CF card for £14.99 from a website that I found on google.
This may be cheap, but I would not have bought this format if I could have bought anything else. I have found some problems with the card.
Firstly, the card is extremely big. This meant that I had to buy an extra external card reader, because my normal one couldn't accommodate the size. Luckily it came with a carry case because the card caboodle that I have was not big enough. So I now have to carry it around it another card holder which is a bit of a pain. It is roughly double the size of an MMC card, and nearly twice the thickness.
Secondly, it is painfully slow when transferring any sort of data from you PC to the card. I have Lost on my PC, and I...

...This is a very good value card - compact flash has been the most reliable over the years, I currently use a Canon 300d and use both the standand Sandisk cards and also the Ultra Sandisk card.
I have found that this card is superfluous to what I need, the speed is more than capable for the camera (and 99% of all others) There is no need to purchase the more expensive 'Ultra' product unless you have a very fast camera, such as the Canon 1D.
Features:
1. It is Available in 7 capacities: 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB
2. High transfer rate for fast copy/download
3.High storage capacity
4.Non-volatile solid-state; no moving parts maximizes battery power. Data is not lost when power is turned off
5. Operating shock rating of 2,000Gs, equivalent to a 10-foot drop to the floor
6.Compatible with all digital cameras...

...I purchased this along with my Nikon D70 because I felt at such a high resolution 5MB NEF files couldn't be handled sufficiently by anything but the best.
This CF is just that, the best.
1GB storage size allowed me to save hundreds of photos at any quality (even Fine JPEG and NEF).
The process speed was also a shock to me, as soon as I slotted it in, I checked out my continuous shot feature, and shot hundreds of shots without any lag, even once I had finished doing so it only took a matter of seconds to completely buffer the images, which was surprised about because I had very high expectations, but after shooting 10 or 15 continuous NEF files even I was stunned.
The card was relatively expensive, at a hard £70-80 it may take some saving for but it's worth every penny, I've yet to hear of a faster one, and who needs more than 1GB...
