Advantages: Top Value, good memory Disadvantages: Can't put any more in this PC! No more room.
...at Dabs.com and found that Crucial was the cheapest by around 35% at the time. Making sure I had the right memory was a concern but I put the model of my PC into the Crucial Memory tool and hey presto it wold me what I would need.

How do I test this memory hard... Flight Sim X seems a good place to start. Very memory intensive application. Before i could barely run it at 6 frames per second (absolutely rubbish). Start it up and hey presto 18 frames per second. Nothing else was changed in my PC to make this happen. more
In the memory market there are a few key players. Firstly you take out all of the players like Dell, HP and Compaq as they charge a premium for branded memory. After this you are left with the organisations that just produce memory. These organisations include Kingston, Corair and Crucial. In my experience I have used memory from all of these vendors having had 15 years experience as an I.T Administrator and Developer.
I went looking for some reasonable price memory that would be good in my PC which had 512Mb in at the time. I compared this to Kingston, Corsair and all the usual suspects at Dabs.com and found that Crucial was the cheapest by around 35% at the time. Making sure I had the right memory was a concern but I put the model of my PC into the Crucial Memory tool and hey presto it wold me what I would need.

Installing the memory was simple. Take the cover off the PC. Earth yourself so you don't put static on the board and slip it straight in. Now for the exciting part. Turning on the PC. My computer now has an extra 2Gb in.. Is it going to behave better?

Besides this the performance of my PC is phenomenal compared to how it was (to be expected with putting 2 x 1GB in my machine) but having done the same in another machine using Kingston memory this was as good and a lot cheaper. What would I use in future? It would have to be Crucial! Fantastic value for money.
Thank you very much for reading. Please do not hesitate to comment. I am always learning.. Thanks Lex

...to be my favourite one, Crucial are great. These come with a genuine life time warrenty, normally i dont belive in such a thing.
example of this: one of my blocks of ram in my computer wasnt working right, So i emailed crucial they told me to do a test. I did this test and it basically said the ram had gone faulty. So emailed them back they said No problem send it us back and we will replace it. next day brand new peice of ram arrived. Amazing. ...

...have. I googled Crucial - the UK site (as there is an American one), and there on the homepage was the download tool (bang in the middle of the page), I pannicked abit seeing a selection of three drop down menus next to this with a zillion choices - but no fear - do not bother with these and just agree to the terms and conditions for the tool and download, within no more than 30 seconds it came up with a page that knew what my PC was the memory that ... ...what memory I could replace this with. In addition it also advises that max memory you can go to. And a few other things that are useful if you understand more techy things than me.
The prices for the available memory choices are immediately flagged up and these were far more competitive than going direct to the manufacturer.
Also beneath the basket options also came up for a screw driver with a non magnetic tip and a anti static wrist band. I ...

I have bought from crucial before and was amazed by the efficiency of their service, that is why i have returned again. I would always recommend anyone buying memory to check out crucial.com/uk/ before going elsewhere! This memory gives a complete new feel to the performance of my PC. It is fast, stable, reliable and is even nice just to look at. It is well built and comes at a reasonable price. If you are not sure what memory you need the home ...
