..::STORY::..

A team of US scientists finds a dazzling discovery in a remote island in China Sea (Year 2019). An ancient Asteroid which has been buried on earth for centuries. This find was so mysterious that the North-Korean government seals the island and any other communication between the excavation team and their US base. Putting everything in to consideration, the US military sends a team of delta force operators to search and rescue any surviving excavation team members. These search and rescue team is equipped with the latest military technology upto date by the US army. What they didn't know was that they're about to be encounted with an alien race which has more advanced technology than them.The North Korean General Refuses to let go of the hostages. The situation turns in a conflict between 2 nations. As USA and North Korean battles, the largest mountain rock of the island opens up reveling an alien ship. The alien Machines only desire is to grow their Energy and conquer Earth. The search and rescue mission turns in to a struggle to save Earth from verge of destruction.
You'll take part in the role of Jake Dunn (Nomad) plus equipped with a high tech suit (nanosuit) which can enhance Speed, Amour, Strength and make you Invisible, you'll be the last hope of mankind. You'll have to face various conditions and harsh environments like Jungles, Zero-G Environment, Below 0 Celsius freezing Environments and find your way to destroy the alien Warrior Machine.

..::Gameplay::..

There are four different difficulty levels to play with. Easy to Delta. If you played on Delta, you'll be playing the game on closer to realistic scenarios. Enemies are harder to kill, you get more attention from the enemy. You're more vulnerable to damage.
The best thing about crysis is that, gameplay is unique. What you do and how you do will have an effect on the further playing of the game. For example how you approach the enemy each time will have a different affect on you. The enemy AI won't react the same way in each time you encounter him.
The Surrounding you play in is very active. It's full of movement. You'll see leaves swing in the direction of the wind, shadows move according to how branches of trees move. You'll be able to feel earthquakes. Landslides. And even you'll be able to retrace your footsteps from the foot prints you made along the way.
Everything is live in the game. Even animals. There are some animals you'll be able to see in this game like sharks, fish, birds, crabs, turtles, butterflies and chickens. Crytek producers have made wildlife in the game so realistic, that each animal will have its own natural real world instincts. The animals AI will react to the players actions, how it would behave in the real world. Sharks will attack you. Birds will fly off they were scared. Crabs will run away from you.
There are varieties of vehicles that you can use in Crysis. Some of them are Hummers, 4X4, trucks. You can choose the position where you want to sit in the vehicle, front seat, driver's seat, or even use the vehicles mounted guns. The game extends the use of vehicles by giving you to use Tanks and Helicopters in some missions. Each of these vehicles bows down to the laws of physics. A tree crashing down to your hummer will crash the vehicle and explode it. if you were in an vehicle when a tree crashes, youll be killed by the exploding vehicle. 4X4 won't automatically turn to its right side when it's upside down.
You'll also get customizable weapons. Keyboard keys will allow you to easily switch between each add-on the weapon has. The choices of weapons that you'll get are impressive.
Weapons that you'll get in single player mode are:
  • Assault Rifles
    -->SCAR (my favorite)
    -->FY-71 Assault Rifle
  • Submachine Gun
    -->MPX8
  • Shotgun
    -->Tactical Shotgun (my favorite)
  • Sniper Rifle
    -->DSG1
  • Pistols
    -->Bauer 1980 SOCOM Pistol
  • Heavy Weaponry
    -->Minigun (Gatling Gun)
    -->GK8 Gauss Rifle
    -->Shi Ten
    -->AutoTurret
  • Ordnance
    -->LAW Rocket Launcher
    -->C4
    -->Claymore
    -->M15 Anti Tank Mine
  • Grenades
    -->M61 Fragmentation Grenade
    -->M84 Flashbang Grenade
    -->AN-M8 HC Smoke Grenade
  • Melee Attacks
    -->Fists
    -->Weapon Melee
    -->Human throw
  • Weapon of Mass Destruction
    -->TAC Launcher

Talking about weapon customization. 3 categories are given for you to customize a weapon.● Weapons Scope
-->Precisions Scope. - has 4x and 10x magnification levels. Good for sniping
-->Assault Scope - 4X magnification. Good for medium range sniping
-->Reflex Scope - you'll get a red pointer when aiming with this.
-->Iron sights - this is the normal aiming method. Aiming though front and rear sights.

● Attachments
-->Silencer
-->Laser pointer
-->Grenade launcher
-->Flash light
-->ranquilizer Launcher

● Ammunition
-->Default Ammo
-->Incendiary Ammo - this type burns the enemy when it comes to contact with them
-->Tranquilizer Darts - temporarily neutralizes the enemy

Another thing which I find awesome in Crysis is that, how it lets us choose our own path to the objective. You don't always have to take the road which you're given. You can go along side the shore, take the woods to get better cover and camouflage. This allows you to ambush your enemy and give them some kick ass!. So each time when you play the same scenario, You'll get a different experience. And you'll never know what you'll expect cuz you're taking different routes. ;)

You are equipped with a nanosuit, which has 4 options:
● Maximum Strength: best for stealth shooting, jump to high places, and beat the crap out of enemies
● Maximum Armor: highly resistance for damage. You can shoot in close ranges with this and resist the damage
● Maximum Speed: this is my favorite, and the one I use most of the time. From this mode. You can run really fast. This is best to hit enemies one by one and get out of the scene quickly.
● Cloak Mode: this will make you invisible. Best to ambush 1 or 2 enemies. The cloak mode lasts only a few seconds if you walking. So this is not the best way to strike your enemy.
Enemy AI

Enemy AI in crysis is fairy good. There are 2 types of Enemies in Crysis. Humans and Alien machines. Humans(enemy & Ally) uses real world military tactics in the game. They tend to move when we fire at them for not to get shot at, Runs away from grenades, Go to defensive stances when alerted. Some even run to call for help. What's funny is, when an enemy caught up with you unexpectedly, they get surprised and freezes for a moment.
Alien Machines are the most coolest enemies for me in the game. There are different types of Alien machines. "Jelly Squids" , "Troopers", "Scouts", "Hunters", "Warriors". Playing with any of these are really enjoyable.

..::Graphics::..

Crysis uses CryEngine to for their graphics. Every bit of character, textures are highly detailed. Shadows are soft and dynamic. Depth of view is used effective throughout the game. Blurred views and soft particles makes the game so realistic. I was impressed by the quality of the texture when I saw a palm tree and in one of its branches, there were several leaves. All of them are different to each other, some are green, some brown, and some even about fall off. Light passing trough thin leaves will make it change color. The waves of the oceans are dynamic. You can even see the water splashing off when hit on rocks. When you're focusing your aim or customizing your weapon, the surrounding will get blurred as in real life scenario. Everything about the crysis graphic is perfect. You just have to try it to see what I mean.

..::Multiplayer::..

Crysis multiplayersupports 32 players in one game and has 6-8 maps.
There are two modes in multiplayer.
  • Power Struggle
  • Deathmatch
    In power struggle you'll be given objectives, like destroying some key enemy defenses and capture the enemy defenses. You'll start the game with only a pistol. For each accomplishment you make, you'll be given credits which can be used for buying weapons. Throughout the map there will be alien cores hidden. If you were able to extract this technology. It'll give you an added advantage for you team in weapons. All of the suit functionalities are working in multiplayer, which means your enemies can sprint, jump higher and use the cloak mode which will be challenging. But the downside is that the suit regenerates slower.

..::Before Buying this game::..

Yes crysis may be the best game which ever made up to now. But before you consider buying. Please check whether your system matches at least the minimum system requirements which are specified here. Even though you'll be able to play the game, you won't be able to feel what this game is all about without the required system specification. I tested this game in a friend's computer who has less systems configurations than the specified. The game worked really slow and finally making us loose the interest of the game.
