Advantages: Friendly staff, entertainment, great place to relax and have fun
Disadvantages: not everything was open, lack of choice of food

...and the Oasis Playa Coco hotel is suppose to be the best tourist hotel on the island. Some people might agree with this whereas others might disagree. ...was a shame though that some of what the resort had to offer was not open or up to the standards you would expect it to be. The resort has everything you need if you just want to go there to relax and unwind; it has a swimming pool (with a swim-up bar), fitness suite (with air conditioning), tennis courts, massage parlour (which was not open at the time), small shop and lots more. ...a great holiday resort and Iberostar Tainos, voted the 3rd best hotel in Cuba, is the best in the resort and is great value for the Caribbean costing £6000 for a group of six of us for two weeks. ...thought this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in Cuba. We stayed here in June 2007 and had the best holiday ever. Havana is steeped in history and the local people couldn't be more friendly. This hotel has a little more than meets the eye, but it is still deeply disappointing as a first impression. We paid a very low price, so should have had lower expectations but as the coach pulled up my face dropped. After the brochures and photos I had previously seen I was met with a complex in the middle of nowhere with nothing shouting 'stay here' about it. ...forward to staying at the Hotel Nacional De Cuba, after all if it was good enough for Sinatra then it must be good enough for my own version of the rat pack although for some reason the family were not keen on the rodent description. ...given the size of the hotel and the fact that someone I later to spoke to had booked well after we had and was not restricted to a booking on the sixth floor I find it hard to believe that only one room was free at the time I booked. According to the hotels website the room rates currently range from 120 CUC for a single room to 1000 CUC for the Presidential suite.
