It's show time!
Review of Hotel Playa Coco, Ciego de Avila by patel88

Advantages: Friendly staff, entertainment, great place to relax and have fun
Disadvantages: not everything was open, lack of choice of food

...and the Oasis Playa Coco hotel is suppose to be the best tourist hotel on the island. Some people might agree with this whereas others might disagree. There were a number of people who had upgraded to this hotel whilst I was there, and a couple of people who had moved out to another hotel… I will give you my experience of my one week stay here and you can draw your own conclusions. The Resort The resort has a lot to offer and it is located ...
...was a shame though that some of what the resort had to offer was not open or up to the standards you would expect it to be. The resort has everything you need if you just want to go there to relax and unwind; it has a swimming pool (with a swim-up bar), fitness suite (with air conditioning), tennis courts, massage parlour (which was not open at the time), small shop and lots more. There is a scooter hire place just at the front of the resort, so ... Read review

Cuba is the place to go!
Review of Iberostar Tainos, Matanzas by lightningwinger

Advantages: Great staff
Disadvantages: 9 hour flight is quite long

...a great holiday resort and Iberostar Tainos, voted the 3rd best hotel in Cuba, is the best in the resort and is great value for the Caribbean costing £6000 for a group of six of us for two weeks. In other places you'll pay that for 2 people. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed. ... Read review

Best Hotel in Cuba!
Review of Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Havana by sophietucker77

Advantages: Location, Luxury
Disadvantages: None

...thought this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in Cuba. We stayed here in June 2007 and had the best holiday ever. Havana is steeped in history and the local people couldn't be more friendly. The hotel is one of the best on the island and I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. it has a central location and has very high standards in terms of cleanliness and helpfulness of staff. We were offered a free room upgrade when we told ... Read review

Occidental Grand Turquesa....needs a bit of TLC
Review of Occidental Grand Playa Turquesa, Holguin by Bianca1984

Advantages: swimming pools, staff, gardens, air conditioning (in rooms)
Disadvantages: a few bin bags, tarantulas!, long walks

This hotel has a little more than meets the eye, but it is still deeply disappointing as a first impression. We paid a very low price, so should have had lower expectations but as the coach pulled up my face dropped. After the brochures and photos I had previously seen I was met with a complex in the middle of nowhere with nothing shouting 'stay here' about it. But once I had passed the bin bags and random matresses I was met with a few key features ...
...swimming pools, the beautiful gardens, the perfectly air-conditioned rooms and the very friendly staff. There were many things wrong with this hotel but these things were great. So if you are willing to overlook a few things they haven't quite got right, then the main things should make you want to stay the week (or two!) and not run for the hills. ... Read review

Move over Frank and Eva for Atticusuk
Review of Hotel Nacional de Cuba, Havana by atticusuk

Advantages: Nice sense of history
Disadvantages: Very crowded as it is a tourist attraction

...forward to staying at the Hotel Nacional De Cuba, after all if it was good enough for Sinatra then it must be good enough for my own version of the rat pack although for some reason the family were not keen on the rodent description. One of the reasons behind choosing the Nacional was the long rather impressive lists of celebrities that had stayed there particularly in its hey day before the revolution and the rule of Fidel Castro but even more ...
...given the size of the hotel and the fact that someone I later to spoke to had booked well after we had and was not restricted to a booking on the sixth floor I find it hard to believe that only one room was free at the time I booked. According to the hotels website the room rates currently range from 120 CUC for a single room to 1000 CUC for the Presidential suite. Our room on the 6th floor is priced at 245 CUC which includes breakfast and converts ... Read review
