Disadvantages It doesn't work with USB Midi Interfaces on Macs
Beware ! Anyone who owns an iMac who is considering purchasing this product read on.
I recently purchased this product as a result of researching it on Steinberg's web site www.steinberg.net.Unfortunately the website did not give Mac users the necessary information regarding compatability.
This product does not work with USB Midi interfaces and is therefore only useful if you have a Mac with a serial port and serial Midi adapter.Steinberg's (EUROPE) website at the time of writing even suggests their own USB 2Midi interface as a 'related product' - a call to their UK tech support confirmed that the USB interfaces only work with Cubase VST (which costs nearly three times as much !) The UK website did have a similar error, however this has been rectified.
Mac users should be able to purchase Cubasis VST sometime in 2001 so I recommend either buying Cubase VST or waiting for the cut down Cubasis VST to be released for Mac.
