Advantages: Good value on special deals Disadvantages: Not so great if you have to pay premium prices
Have you heard the one about how copper wire was invented by two Scotsmen fighting over a penny? You haven't? Well I haven't got time to tell you it just now, but it's a blatant misrepresentation of the Scottish psyche.
I was discussing this slur on our national character with a friend recently when I happened upon 4-pack (330ml) of KINGFISHER beer for the knock-down price of £1.99.
I grabbed those suckers quicker than a Jock slipping out the fire exit when it's his round at the bar, and toddled off home by myself (so I didn't have to share them).
But enough of that, what about the beer?
KINGFISHER is India's leading brand of premium lager with a share approaching 25% of the total beer market, it's the top-selling Indian lager in the UK and Europe, and it's also available in 50 other countries ...
Advantages: Lightweight, Sleek and attractive looking, Easy to use, Affordable Disadvantages: Possibly too light for heavier equipment
My tripod is the Cullmann 54100 Euro Uno Stitiv/Tripod
This is the first time I have purchased a tripod of my own, having researched the market I decided to buy mine at a Photographers Exhibition so at a reduced price.
Having only previously used second hand tripods found in charity shops, made of heavy metal and designed in a bulky style. I was very pleased when testing the newer tripods, that weight has been considerably reduced, and the style and shape has been streamlined for convenient handling and transporting.
The Cullmann 54100 has a handy carry handle that allows easy transport. It is also extremely light. Not so light that it topples over when standing, but light enough to be manageable.
Easy to use, the camera fixes nicely into place via a plastic square that detaches from the tripod and fixes to the bottom ...
Advantages: good for you, tastes great, no harmful ingredients Disadvantages: None
Horrified by the ingredients in the toothpaste ranges available in most chemists and supermarkets, I turned to my local health food shop for alternatives. I tried a few and Kingfisher is my family's favourite. We use the flouride-free, but it is available with flouride.
It doesn't contain any sweeteners, coloursings or preservatives. We use the fennel flavour (there are others) which contains real fennel oil, so there are no artificial flavours either.
My daughter, aged 6, won't use any of the traditional brands now. She complains that they taste 'false' and sweet.
One big benefit for me is that fennel has been used by herbalists for years as an appetite suppressant. I find the fennel taste prevents me from feeling hungry. They should advertise this, it's great! ...
