Advantages: Features sunrise and sunset settings. Disadvantages: High price, have to dim light until its off.
The benefits of this alarmclock I personally believe will vary from person to person. It basically is an alarmclock doubled up with a bedside lamp.
The main feature of this device is it will switch its lamp on 30 mins before the alarm goes off and slowly glow to full brightness. The idea being that it simulates a sun-rise which in theory is supposed to encourage your brain to release chemicals associated with waking up.
The benefits of this function will be most useful to people suffering S.A.D symtoms and individuals working shifts. I personally bought this product because I do shifts and i must admit it has helped, in particular with dark winter mornings, it helps bring you to a more alert state as it casts a nice bright light into your room.
A second feature is the same as above but in reverse, the device will create ...
Advantages: Wakes you up naturally. Disadvantages: None.

You can see by the photo that the clock has a traditional clock face. It has one of those small hands to set the alarm. I could never understand how to set the time with one hand but basically you put the hand between the two numbers ie. half past 6 would be between the 6 and the 7 hand. I have never thought that it would be stricltly accurate but it seems to be.
You can see that there is a glass dome (it is actually plastic) which the light shines through. There are slits in the back which helps even more to simulate the sunlight.
There is also a radio function.
The clocks from outsidein on line which sells lots of Lumie products are £79. I did manage to get it a fair bit cheaper from Ebay. I bought my first one from outsidein and the postage is free from them ...
remove my finger it goes straight back to full brightness unless I turn the alarm off first. This is good as I?m more likely to get out of bed but when I?m still half-asleep and trying to dim the light I?m not so impressed! Lol
~ What I dislike ~
* The clock is analogue so it is difficult to set a precise time for the alarm, so I use my digital one as a back up.
* The clock ticks quite loud which can get quite irritating, however it doesn?t really affect me sleeping. This bodyclock is analogue though and you can get digital ones, which I presume wouldn't tick!
* The clock runs off electric so if you unplug the clock you need to set the time again when you plug it back in.
* The light from the Bodyclock is bright but it doesn?t feel like natural sunlight. It just looks like the room is lamplit. I think I will appreciate it ...
