When working together works

Advantages: Sometimes necessary, sometimes even desirable
Disadvantages: Hard for voters to know what to expect

“Britain does not love coalitions,” said Disraeli, and history has tended to prove him right even if the reasons for that lack of love are hard to fathom. Distaste for coalition government is a peculiarly British trait. In most western democracies it ...

Review of What has the past five years taught us about the merits and demerits of government by a coalition rather than a single party ?

I Should Co-Coalition

Advantages: It's about the number of seats the government has, not the coalition
Disadvantages: I foresee 5 years of struggle

But aren’t we always governed by a coalition of sorts? I’m always interested in the concept of a political party because it is not as if everyone in that party speaks with one voice. It is actually more a loose collective of people who agree wit ...

Review of What has the past five years taught us about the merits and demerits of government by a coalition rather than a single party ?

Coalition only produces cowards and compromise.

Advantages: Bye bye Cameron
Disadvantages: More cuts

The nation celebrated our Syrian born patron saint by allowing his countrymen to drown in the Mediterranean Sea on St Georges Day, showing just how ineffective and cowardly a coalition government can be. The EU policy has been to let them drown to deter o ...

Review of What has the past five years taught us about the merits and demerits of government by a coalition rather than a single party ?

Society is one big wannabe coalition...

Advantages: If people can be more idealistic by practical changes in their lives it's better than not.
Disadvantages: Things stay the same but the names and faces change.

I won't delve into the general pros/cons of coalition for government and/or specific examples to illustrate my points, those have been aptly covered; I'm not into regurgitation and you've already heard it. This might seem off track but bear with me... ...
