I have never ever experienced such awful, incompetent service from a retailer. Over the last 6 weeks dealing with Curry's I have lost count how many times I have been told someone would call me back and they haven't or given misinformation. I ordered a washer/dryer which did not work and got it changed through the manufacturer. This one worked for 5 days before breaking which is when I contacted curry's to get a refund. The girl I spoke to on the telephone asked me if I would like to change it for a different machine which i did but was aware that Comet had this in store at a cheaper price, she informed me that they would price match the washer/dryer but it would not arrive instock until 15th Oct. I agreed to the exchange as long as I could get a weekend delivery as I had already taken 2 days off work to await deliveries. The 15th Oct came and went and i finally contacted curry's on the 22nd Oct to find out what was happening. They had no idea and thought it was a completed sale, at this point i told Curry's i just wanted them to collect the machine and i would get my money back. I was told that they would collect the machine On Sun 25th Oct and my money would go back onto my card 5days later. After speaking to my husband we decided to call Curry's back and ask if we could drop the machine off at our nearest store to which I was told wasn't possible as it had been ordered from online, so we organised for it to be collected the following day (Fri 23rd Oct). I checked my bank a/c on Mon 26th & the payment had not been put on my card so I called Curry's and was told the payment had been processed on the Friday but could take up to 5 days which was fair enough, however 10mins later someone else called me to ask if the washing machine had been collected when I confirmed that it had they said they would put the money back onto my card. I queried this informing them that I had been told 10mins earlier that the payment was already being processed to which he said he would find & call back. 2hrs later I called Curry's to ask what was going on and was told that the info given to me had been incorrect, they had no record that the washer/dryer had been collected & the process of putting the funds back onto my card had not been started. He told me he would find out exactly what was going on & see if any form of compensation could be arranged, again I was told that i would receive a phonecall by 5pm. At 6pm I called curry's & again was passed between 3 different people who told me different things & did not really know what was going on. At this point I was getting very very upset I am 36 wks pregnant & want a washer/dryer in my home by the time my baby arrives. I spoke to a manager at this point who informed me that there was no record of the machine being collected & the process of putting the funds back onto my card had not been started I will therefore not have the funds available on my card until approx fri 30th Oct 1week after collection and 3 weeks before I am due to give birth. She also told me that I had also been misinformed regarding taking the machine back to my nearest store, apparently I could have done this & they could have processed my card there and then. I wish I had commenced with my original plans of getting the machine collected 3 weeks ago and going to Comet as I have been given nothing but misinformation, lies and fobbing off from the staff at Curry's. I honestly think they are not trained and just make up what they think as they go along as I have not been given the same information by any 2 members of staff.
