PACKAGING AND OTHER INFO
The Cuticra hand gel cost £1.28 per bottle and it is available in two sizes, one being the 100ml bottle which I bought and the other sized bottle is much bigger, I picked the smaller botlle as it would be easier to carry around, especially as the kids would be carrying it around in their school bags . The bottle is see through which is handy to ... ...kids have been using the Cuticura hand gel for the past two weeks, they have used it several times per day and my eldest son has senitive skin, up until now they have had no problems with dried skin, I really expected my son to suffer with dry skin or even maybe a rash but so far he hasn't. In my opinion my hands feel clean and soft after using the gel and as I said I haven't had any problems either.
At the begining of the new school term, the school sent home a note about the Swine Flu and the precautions that the school would be applying for the safety of the children, according to the note they were going to supply an antibacterial hand gel in each classroom to encourage the kids to wash their hands regularly, I thought this was a good idea because judging by my own three children it's a nightmare to get them to move and wash their hands, so by using this hand gel they dont have to move and still they will have clean hands were necassary, and coming into the winter lots of colds and viruses will be about so thats another good reason to use this hand gel in the classrooms, however the provided hand gel didn't last to long in the classrooms, once it ran out it was never supplied again.
WHY I BOUGHT THE HAND GEL My daughter happened to mention that they no longer had hand gel in the class now as it was all done and had never been replaced, but she also mentioned that other children in her class were bringing in their own hand gel and she asked would I let her and my other two children bring some hand gel into school with them, well how could I refuse... usually it was a hassle to get hands washed and now she was asking me for hand gel, needless to say without any hesitation I went to Boots Pharmacy the same day and purchased three bottles of Cuticura Hand Hygiene Gel.
PACKAGING AND OTHER INFO The Cuticra hand gel cost £1.28 per bottle and it is available in two sizes, one being the 100ml bottle which I bought and the other sized bottle is much bigger, I picked the smaller botlle as it would be easier to carry around, especially as the kids would be carrying it around in their school bags . The bottle is see through which is handy to keep an eye on how much hand gel is left, the lid is a flip top lid which is blue in colour, on front of the clear bottle there is a label with the following information on, At the top of the label it says "Cuticura for healthy hands" in white lettering, in the middle of the label in blue lettering it says "Original hand hygiene gel" below this the words "Antibacterial kills 99.99% of bacteria fast" is wrote in red lettering, at the bottom of the label there is a list of were it would be suitable to use this hand gel, it is suitable for the family, for public toilets, when eating out and when on the go.
The label on the back of the bottle provides more information such as the hand gel has been proved to kill 99.99% percent of bateria found on the hands, the gel is suitable for using basically anywere when soap and water are not available, it also says that this hand gel has been tested to BS EN 1276;1997 and BS EN 1500;1997 standard. The warning can also be found on the back label, they are that this product contains alcohol , it is flammable and should be kept away from flames, it advises not to use on broken skin and if the hand gel comes in contact with eyes, then rinse with tepid water, the hand gel should not be stored anywere that is above 40%, the final warning is to keep out of the reach of children.
The ingredients include Alcohol Denat, Aqua (water) Propylene Glygol, Triciosan, Carbonar, Triethanolamine, Parfum (fragrance).
THE HAND GEL The hand gel is clear in colour and seems to be quite watery, the smell reminds me of Cucumber, I have to say the smell is quite off putting in my opinion but the kids didn't seem to mind it. Using the hand gel is simple, squeeze out a small drop onto your hand and rub hands as if you were using normal soap, after a few seconds the gel should dry in leaving hands clean and refreshed with no stickness, surprisingly enough this is the case, I used the hand gel before I allowed the kids to use it and I was plesantly surprised at how quick the gel dries in and there is absolutely no stickiness whatsoever, The smell is quite strong and I wasn't impressed at smelling like a Cucumber but the smell wears away quite quickly and my hands were left feeling really clean. I must admit I have used the hand gel on numerous occassions and I have had no problems with it drying my skin.
HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT THE HAND GEL TO LAST My daughter has been using this hand gel now for about two weeks or so and she has a three quarters of a bottle left, I imagine she shares it with her friends in school and she probably uses slighly more of this gel than is actually required, now my two sons have used nearly the whole bottle within the past two weeks, so either they have extremely clean hands or they too are sharing with their friends and using more of the gel than is required, but really I dont mind as long as I know they are using it and their hands are clean, I expect it to last her for at least another four or five weeks, as for the boys they will probably get another week if they're lucky, however an adult using this hand gel would probably get longer usage from it.
HAVE THERE BEEN ANY SIDE EFFECTS FROM USING THE GEL? As I said my three kids have been using the Cuticura hand gel for the past two weeks, they have used it several times per day and my eldest son has senitive skin, up until now they have had no problems with dried skin, I really expected my son to suffer with dry skin or even maybe a rash but so far he hasn't. In my opinion my hands feel clean and soft after using the gel and as I said I haven't had any problems either.
MY OPINION Well it's great to know that the kids are keeping their hands clean in school as and when they need to, they keep this bottle of hand gel on their desk and use it before break time and dinner time and god knows how many other times in the school day, but they dont only use it in school they carry it about when we are out and about and it comes in especially handy in the public toilets, the bus and if we are eating out, This hand gel is handy in every way and provides peace of mind that children or whoever is using the gel has hygenic hands at all times.
The bottle is quite small and it's handy to fit into the kids school bags, my handbag and even their pockets, so it is really handy to carry around with us. As I said our hands are left feeling clean, fresh and soft, they smell nice and fresh, well once the Cucumber smell fades away. I will continue to use this hand gel for the kids for the forseeable future, but I am going to check out it there are any other Cuticura gels available for myself, as I really dont like the smell of this one.

Advantages: Cleans your hands without drying them out. Disadvantages: This may lead to over worrying about hand hygiene.
I have always been a clean person especially where hygiene is concerned; having 2 children means that I always have wipes in the house and I take wipes out with me. I like to be able to clean my hands when I feel it is necessary. With wet wipes the packs are large which meant I had to find a suitable container or bag to take only a few, as I don't like carry a lot around with me, and the travel size packs of wipes are in my opinion are overpriced. ... ...cold and then I have to find a bin to dispose of the wipe. I am not too keen on using public facilities as they are usually not very nice, and there is not always soap available. I first came across hand hygiene gel while I was out with a friend she took some from out of her bag and rubbed it into her hands and it smelt nice so I was intrigued by what she was using. I had to get some and since then I have always used a hand gel. Out of all of the ...

CUTICURA ANTI-BACTERIAL HAND HYGIENE GEL.
Before using this product, I'd never encountered Cuticura and so I was a bit wary of buying it as I'd never even heard the name of the company before. So I decided to do a bit of detective work and as in any of my typical reviews I have included a bit of background information on the company behind the product. CUTICURA?

The bottle I have before me is small, only 100ml, although there is a larger 250ml bottle available and a citrus edition, but the smaller bottle is more useful as it is meant to be portable and ...

Advantages: Does it's job. Quite good value compared to other brands. Disadvantages: A bit drying, and a little runny.
A whole range of anti-bacterial gels have suddenly appeared on the shelves now and this is obviously one of them. This is a relatively unknown brand to me - I think I only bought this as this was more or less one of the cheaper ones out of the more seemingly competent ones [the ones with the most claims :o) ].
There is definitely a use for these. As a regular user of hand wipes, I have always found it awkward with having to deal with the used wipe ... ...a bin, however, on my travels nowadays i have found that the bins are disappearing, especially on the train stations there is never one to be found - sadly because of the increased terrorist precautions that are now taking place...
So, these gels are pretty clever in a way, I say this with a reservation, as these gels can never replace the full effectiveness of clean soap and water.
Anyway, back to the gel. Yes, this was the first gel that I have ...

...quite a cool design, the Cuticura label is surrounded with varying intensities of blue and a fancy silver line wisps down across it. The writing on the front is clear and the writing on the back is also clear "until half way down the bottle" then it gets slightly harder to see. The lid is blue and it is quite easy to open but shuts very securely meaning that none will leak if you do decide to take it anywhere with you. Particularly Specified Things ... ...overly like the smell of Cuticura but i do believe that it is the best out of the two bottles. I never knew something like this existed prior to my mum buying it and i do think it is a very good idea. I am quite obsessive when it comes to things and everything has to be a particular way. So with this although i can appreciate what a amazing product it is. It isn't something i would use because i just feel more clean using water when washing my hands ...
