Well im a student at Uni, which pretty much says it all. I play games, I eat food and I have a girlfriend. As a result, the things I review are mostly centred around those three things. Also I like cats and tortoises, of which I own two of each.

I first used this in Poland, when my very "clean" friend wanted to constantly clean his hands whenever touching a surface that didn't belong to him. It was after this that I realised the benefits it could have.
The gel has a sort of watermelon-y smell to it and it dries very quickly. At about £1 for a 100ml bottle (which will last a fair while, depending on how often you use it) it isn't too bad, really. A 100 ml container will also be able to get through airports, so you can kill those nasty germs left by other passengers on the plane! I will, however, say that there is no alcohol content in % on the list of ingredients - however since this is the first listed ingredient, it is at least 50% alcohol.
The idea that this is an alternative to washing hands does hold a lot of truth (it is very effective) but really, I would use my judgement on why I need the gel in the first place. For example - if you have been weeding in the garden, I would wash my hands. There is probably some case to be made for kids building up their immunities to stuff by playing outside, but this doesn't extend to every situation.
But this gel does have some very practical and useful applications Personally I have never experienced any bad food poisoning, but you can never be too careful especially when handling things for other people. By killing salmonella, it makes a great companion for tortoise carers - instead of going all the way to the bathroom, you can just give this a squirt instead. Also if you're using a public computer (University, internet café) and then going to eat afterwards, handling change in a shop and then going to eat the food or if you are ill anyway and infection chance is increased.
I have to say that there is no real replacement for washign with soap and water. A good scrub and clean seems to keep most of the nation happy. Additionally, soap gets grease and dirt off, something that the gel doesn't do - in fact my hands feel no cleaner after I use it on a hot day, where your hands have had built up sweat or grease.
So in conclusion, this is great for the health conscious. Being realistic, many people's lifestyles have gaps in where they could get "something" - especially in restaurants or anywhere where somebody else is doing the cooking. But when you know certain risks and it is just not convenient to carry on going to the bathroom, this gel can really come in handy in many situations.
