    Advantages Advantages Cracking good read, a page turner if ever there was one, gritty and very realistic...

    Dr Tim Fletcher is just coming off his shift at the hospital where he works. He’s on his way to his girlfriend’s house but never makes it that far. Crossing the pedestrian bridge leading away from the hospital he is viciously attacked and left for dead, maimed and bleeding profusely.     First Dr Tim Fletcher is hospitalised after being found unconscious and bleeding by his girlfriend Karen. Detective Inspector Charlie Resnick’s Nottingham team of police detectives soon find themselves investigating a series of brutal attacks involving cutting, trying to piece together the evidence. The crimes appear to show the same method, but what connects the three very different victims left for dead?     I have just finished reading this book, although its a 2-in-1, so I thought I'd write this before I got too far into the second story. I picked this up for 10p in a bookshop sale amongst a box full of other books, I picked it up purely because of the genre, I have no prior knowledge of John Harvey, and I must admit I'm glad that's all I paid for it. Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great either. Before I get carried away I'll describe it a wee bit.
