I brought my player for £99.99 from Richer Sounds, I spent hours surfing the internet looking and reading reviews. I was looking at spending around £200 as I wanted a decent player, I had seen loads of cheap players but all were of a low spec until I seen this one.

I was almost put off due to its low price which normally means low quality and the maker Cyber Home (never heard of them) and it isn’t the best looking player on the market with its old fashioned buttons, I think they designed the case way before DVD’s were invented, and the player is not the slimmest.

This player will play CD’s,CDR, CDRW, VCD, DVDR, & MP3’s with a menu feature, it also has a Dolby 5.1 DTS decoder, which is a very good feature from such a low priced machine. There is many connections on the back if you are seriously into sound, has extra outputs for the Dolby speakers, coaxial/optical, s/video do not know as what you connect to these but must be good to have, I will have to find out.

The picture and sound in my view is good, I do have one problem which I cannot get rid off. If you look very closely you can see the ghosting of the channel you were watching before you played your DVD. I have brought an expensive scart lead but did not solve it, I have found that I have to switch the TV to a blank channel this makes the TV go to a blank blue screen then switch the player on then all is fine.

At the end of the day if you want a sleek looking slim player DON’T get one, if you want a player full of features and isn’t bothered about looks then get this cheap player.

Nearly forgot, the remote is nicely laid out and the important buttons like play, stop, pause, rewind, fast forward will glow in the dark (for about 20mins).

Oh dear, it is muti-region as well, was supposed to be from the box but it wasn’t took minutes to find the simple code on the net.

Hope this has helped, good look with your decision.
