Cyberhome CH-DVD 400

Advantages: VERY cheap. Plays all kinds of media and formats
Disadvantages: No frontal diplay - your maiden aunt would approve

Not only did their machine (Cyberhome CH400) cost the same, but also using a combination of their ‘crib sheet’ and a whole host of testimonials from buyers enabled you to garner together a very wide specification for the machine. 1. CYBERHOME CH DVD400 Cyberhome is a little-known brand outside of the budget end of DVD purchasing, but even so, it is a brand with a firm following of fans. This particular machine is quite compact (225 mm wide) compared to the usual ‘Hi-Fi separate’ size. Advantages: Small, plays DivX, XVid, firmware upgradable, multi-region capable

...The CyberHome CH-DVD 401 is a combined DVD, DivX and XVid player. The unit itself is tiny; just 25cm/10ins across- way too small to take the weight of a TV, but it perches quite happily on the top of a telly. The remote is also very small, but the buttons are well laid out with high contrast colours for the common playback functions, making it easy to use in low light. Outputs include standard SCART and left/right audio, plus SVideo, Composite Video, surround sound and coaxial audio connectors. There is no RF modulator, you will need a SCART socket at minimum, SCART cable is not included. All interaction takes place on the TV screen; there is no display on the unit itself (a larger, more expensive model the CH-DVD 462 has a display and will stack under a TV/HiFi etc). ...Cyberhome CH-DVD 402 Cyberhome have reputation for producing solid, reliable cheap players with features only normally associated with high end kit and this one is no exception. This player was bought before Christmas for £80 and I am delighted with its performance and impressive list of features. It’s my first DVD player so I have nothing to compare it to but video and I have to say that watching video in comparison is like looking at TV through net curtains. VIDEO SETTINGS The 402 has many video settings, multi-angle support, multi-speed slow motion 2x, 4x, 8x 16x forwards and backwards and multi-speed searching. It is also adjustable for brightness, contrast and screen format, 4;3, 16:9 widescreen and audio settings which you need to set up to match your TV and audio gear.
