You will need a roof mounted ariel to get the best out of this tuner, preferably a semi-directional one. I use an omnidirectional ariel - I had no choice living in a flat. Even this ariel works considerably better than an indoor item.

I bought the FM 7.5 because I listen to the radio the most out of all hifi sources. I didnt listen to any other tuners except the tuner it replaced which was a kenwood item that wasnt that bad to be honest. It is a great tuner, although it has no features like RDS or station name dislay, just 7 presets on the front panel, a frequency display and a signal strength dial. When properly tuned into a chanel a circle displays on the LCD display. The unit can be controlled completly via the amp remote control which provides a further 15 or so preset chanels (not that you would need them all).
The sound quality is good towards the warm side but reception quality is largely dependant upton the ariel. Local radio stations seem to sound better than Radio 1, which can sound compressed and hard, and the unit provides substantial bass on these stations. Radio 2 often sounds over-warm but tuneful. There is very little to no hiss on most stations which is excellent and often I forget that I am listening to the radio at all!
Advantages: Stylish Appearance, small enough for most rooms, compatable with most systems and music Disadvantages: Can sound dry and hard at times especially with poor source choice
music but can sometimes be heavy-going with rock and heavy metal.
