Advantages: Wifi enabled and very rugged Disadvantages: Weak connection on Dell's AC adapter
...Had this for over a year now as a laptop for work. My spec is ...14.1 in - CPU: Intel® Celeron® M Processor 360 - 1.50 GHz, 504 MB of RAM
Phillips CDRW/DVD, and the best feature....a Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card (Wifi card).
Overall this laptop has been extremely reliable considering I have been using it every day for at least 10 hours a day, and quite often longer than that (with the kids using it in the evening).
I've had a few problems with it but most have turned out to be mainly software rather than the hardware itself. I have however had to buy a new battery as the first one ended up lasting for only about 10 minutes. Also the standard Dell AC adapter had to be replaced as the end that goes in the back of the PC is bent when you receive it and gets very weak when it's straightened out - when you put...

Advantages: very powerful machine. Excellent support from Dell Disadvantages: None
...I left my old company a couple of months ago and took up my new position with my current company who very kindly issued me with a brand new Dell Latitude D820 laptop. I've had an opportunity to put it through its paces for the last 8 weeks and this review will cover my experiences to date.

For starters it has a dual core processor. For those of you not familiar with dual core, this means that the main processor actually consists of 2 processors within a single chip. Each processor or 'core' can be used to perform a different task. E.g. one may be running Microsoft Office applications whilst the other could be running an application that plays your music files.
This is slightly different to having a computer that has 2 discrete CPUs and there are logistical...

Advantages: Looks Great, Works Fine, Good After Service Disadvantages: Battery Length and Gets very Hot!
...and this is when I contacted DELL who took my laptop away checked it and replaced the fan and cleaned all the filters from where the hot air is released, So the heat issue no longer exists.
Moving on to the Dell service, it was brilliant. I spoke to a representative on the internet, who phoned me himself and arranged a pick up and the laptop was picked up and packed securely and taken. I then received constant text messages telling me the progress on my laptop and its location. I got my laptop back within 2 working days and I was very happy with the service. They even called me afterwards to make sure everything was fine and whether I was happy.
The battery life is a problem but then again it's a common laptop problem! It can last up to 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours max, but iv never really had to use it so often on battery so it doesn't really...
