...I have recently purchased a 533MHz Intel® Celeron™ (S370). I also have a SLOTEK mine is MSI MS6905 Master ver 1.1
The sloket makes it possible to plug the celeron chip into a SLOT1 Motherboard. My motherboard is the ABIT VT6X4.
The ABIT Motherboard has a softmenu setup which is great for overclocking.
Now to overclock this processor. Well first of all this processor is locked at 8 times the system clock. So 8 times 66Mhz gives 533. With the ABIT Motherboard and sofmenu you select USER SETUP and start changing parameters. As soon as you change the clock multiplier to anything but 8 times the configuration would default to the 533 * 8 settings. The Multiplier is locked at 8 times. So what we can do is change the processor speed from 66Mhz to something else. I tried 75Mhz and 83Mhz. 75Mhz worked fine (giving a 600Mhz overall speed...

Advantages: Very fast, highly overclockable, quite cheap now Disadvantages: None
...The Intel Pentium 4 series has taken a few turns over the last couple of years with faster and faster processors being released and on many different formats, i'll do my best to offer a small insight and background into those previous products (as i feel this is very relevant in order to explain my reviewed products features and capabilities better).
The Pentium 4 series started way back in 2001 with the introduction of the P4 1.4ghz CPU running on a 100mhz front side bus, and required motherboards in a socket 423 format, the core of this processor was named 'Willamette' and was widely available of systems supporting RDRAM only, later that year there were many other P4 releases (1.5ghz upwards) and also came the introduction of systems supporting the noticably slower SDRAM which proved a massive hit to joe public as it was a far...

Advantages: Cheap, Good power:cost ratio Disadvantages: Not HighEnd
...When you're evaluating this product please don't forget that it's probably only costing you £15/£20 pounds and it IS a budget processor.
There is speed to be had in this processor but it's NOT 333 Mhz of speed. It's a cleverly multiplied low-end processor which has a very high effective speed.
The best situation for this chip is where you could normally only fit a P166 Mhz chip. Older machines.
Once excellent place for this chip is in network servers. Laugh all you will but ....
You can pick-up a rack-mountable Compaq Proliant server which support 4 processors (P166) for about £250. Buy four of these and fit them and you've got an awesome little server for under £350. Add extra memory and a good HD system and you've got a VERY capabale multi-function server capable of sevicing over 1000 users on a LAN. I know this as I...
