Compaq DEC Alpha 21264A 667 MHz processor board

Advantages: Excellent manufacturer and customer service
Disadvantages: Not too good to work on for an upgrade

...HP has always been know for its build quality. This PC is one of there home user systems which is a great compact machine. The tower itself is not so big like many other manufacturers but the downside is when going to upgrade the machine, its not so good to work on as its quite compact inside. Nothing much realy goes wrong with this PC as all parts are made by reputable manufacturers. The motherboard inside can take a range of processors and with some up to 1.2mhz. Also depending on the motherboard again, the memory upgrades can range from 256mb to 768mb. I have never had any problems with the screen and has always stayed sharp with no glitches. Advantages: good system
Disadvantages: not very good monitors

...HP is a very good brand, so a director of my company decided to by some of them. Our company uses HP's products for 2 years and we see that we didn't mistake choosng HP Vectra. But in our computers after 2 years of using we have to repare monitors. Personally me use HP Vectra VL with P2-233 Mh in my office. Thou there are many faster processors, but this one is not worth than modern computers. There is a coupl words about design - it is very good, so there are no problems to put it in any place. I hope that HP will keep constructing so nice computers and we will use them for many years.... Read review

Advantages: Fully installed and ready to go

...This is another package from Hewlett Packard which at the time when bought out was reasonable priced. Nowadays you can pickup a package like this between £100 and £250 depending on any upgrades. Usually the processor is around 600mhz and can be upgraded to around 1000mhz. The only problem with this machine is of the L2 cache installed on the main board. The more L2 cache the quicker and easier the processor can handle information. The maximum memory my machine could take was 512mb but not sure on the higher spec machines. My machine came with a scrolling mouse which many machines didn't have. All machines that i knew of came with Windows 98 but this can be wiped and Windows 2000 or even XP can easily be installed with 128mb memory.
