I have been using DHL since the last five years and regularly send documents overseas with them.

I also receive about three to four packets through them weekly.

I have never ever experienced any problems with them.

In fact once you have the DHL Airwaybill number you can go to their website yourself and do a tracking on the particular Airwaybill, wether you are the sender or receiver.

The tracking provides all the information such as:

1) Date and time picked up
2) Date and time it left the DHL facility from the country it was sent from
3) Date and time it arrived at a transit point (if applicable)
4) Date and time it arrived at its destination country
5) Date and time it arrived at the company or person you sent it to.

They can even give you the name of the person who signed for it at the final destination.

Another point to mention is the time that a packet takes to reach its destination.
For example the ones that I send to Ghana in West Africa, regularly, only take on average 3 days to arrive.
Sometimes even two days.

They use their own aircraft to service many countries and have their main transit point (hub/sorting center) at Brussels in Belgium.

If you a regular customer and send and receive a high amount of packets then you can negotiate a special rate with them.

Their rates depend on the size of the packet and the country you are sending it to.

You can check their rates from their website. All you have to do is to enter wether it’s a parcel or document, country it is being sent to and the weight and approx size. It automatically calculates the price for the packet, so you can then make your choice wether to send through them or another Courier company.

I would recommend DHL especially if you are sending important documents and parcels to Third World Countries in Africa, Middle East and Asia. DHL are particularly strong in these areas and will definitely get your packet at its destination faster than any other company.
