Advantages: Looks good, Great Starter Deck, Easy to use Disadvantages: Pitch control feels light, Needles ware out fast
I had these decks when i first started to learn how to dj, At first i was impressed by the way they looked and the decks seemed very responsive to begin with.
The ound quality seemsa bit poor to me but i think its more the needle quality
Starting and stopping seems a little slow compared to the likes of Technics 1210, but the momentum of the record is very easily disrupted by just trying to tweak the speed slightly. This is very frustrating! The ... .... Also, pitch adjustment around 0% is terrible - there is a noticeable difference which is difficult to compensate for when mixing.
I now run the CDJ 1000mk3 after several years of saving up! But if you are a DJ and wanting to learn how to mix and get into the business. these decks are ideal. ...
Advantages: ITS PORTABLE Disadvantages: IT DOES NOT DO WHAT THE MANUFACTURERS STATE ie PLAY ALL REGION DVD

...turntable. At one point, however, Vestax were challenging Technics to their crown. The PDX-8000 was one of their flagship products and was the one that was a direct threat to the Technics SL1210. There are a few functions of this turntable that make it stand out from the rest: 1 - The LED display. As far as I am aware, this was one of the first turntables to have an LED display built in. The screen shows you what the current pitch range is (this ... ...or -12 to +12), it also displays the current pitch. 2 - Control stick. You can move the control stick to speed up or slow down the speed of the platter temporarily. This is useful if you are mixing two records together and one has become slightly out of synch with the other. I really like this feature and wish more turntables had it to be honest. 3 - Reverse switch. A bit of a gimmick really but one that, if used correctly, sounds great. This allows ...

Review of Vestax PDX8000
Advantages: Build quality. Disadvantages: Would be good to have a wider pitch range.
...the industry standard direct drive Technics SL1200 turntable. To be honest, this is not massively different to the M3 edition, the most noticeable difference is the white LED light and the anti-skate control (which I never adjust anyway). As with all Technics, this plays records at either 33 or 45 rpm and you have the option to select the speed between -8% and +8%. This turntable also has the 'pitch reset' button which, if pressed, ignores the pitch ... ...an astonishing amount of abuse. Technics turntables are famous for their longevity, often lasting for years. These are no exception. The only thing that may need to be done to this turntable is some cleaner sprayed into the pitch slider to keep it gliding smoothly and not sticking. I would highly recommend this turntable to anyone who does not mind investing in quality audio equipment. ...
Advantages: The durability and quality of build. Disadvantages: The centre click of the pitch control.
I've owned my 1210s for nearly 8 years. They were and still are the industry standard for many professional DJs. I used to DJ in clubs and only mixed on these. If you want to take your DJ'ing seriously then you can't go wrong in purchasing these. The sturdy build allows them to be knocked around a little to and from gigs, the parts are easily removed and replaceable (should you ever need to) and the quality of the mechanism is second to none. The ... ...control. If you are beat matching a record which falls in the middle of the pitch, then you may have a harder time finding the perfect BPM due to the centre click. The solution is simple, alter the speed of the other deck slightly. I use my 1210s for beat matching, scratching and just playing records. Look at the prices second hand for these, they hardly lose value. This is how good they are! If you want reverse pitch, pitch bend, digital displays ...
