Behringer VMX 300 Mixer
Advantages: BPM counter, Bass/Mid/Treble cut out/volume controls, nice and robust feel to it Disadvantages: I cant think of any!
I have owned this mixer for a couple of years now and it still works as well today as it did when it was new. Its a decent sized mixer and feels quite weighty and well made. The controls are nice and smooth and the cross fader is very responsive. There is a seperate control to adjust the sensitivity of the cross fader to help facilitate the users style of mixing. The mixer has 3 channels, each with 2 inputs. This allows for up to 6 pieces of kit ... ...turntables, CD player and tape player going through it. There is also 2 outputs, one to go to the amplifier and another 'booth' output. I have connected the booth output to my PC so I can record both my mixes and also CD's or Tapes. This is great for saving them ever-fading 'old skool' tapes and burning to CD! There are 3 cut out switches for both channels (on X-fader). These cut out Bass, Mid or Treble from the music. The switches can be tapped ...

A cheap mixer which is secretly a hidden gem.
Advantages: Light but durable, excellent sound for price, good looker and does the job! Disadvantages: Will need an upgrade eventually.
...and was I impressed. The Behringer VMX 100 is just another one of the little beauty's that Behringer have been producing in recent times. Suited for beginners it produces excellent sound quality for something of it's price. I have had a lot of fun mixing with this piece of audio genius and would recommend it to beginners. A great buy, but once you start to realise your potential you will probably want a change. Some Behringer products such as this ...

Good, solid beginner mixer
Advantages: Low/Mid/High Gain & Kill + Phono/Line Switching Disadvantages: 2 channels, set-up can be challenging.
The DM-1002 MKII is a solid and good mixer for beginning DJ's. Everything from the stylish design, to the ease of use - is something that makes the mixer normally a join to use. Being able to output to master and record gives the mixer a helpful capability (with each output being able to be gain adjusted) The mixer has two switchable line in & phono inputs, master & record outputs and a helpful crossfader to fade between each channel helps the beginner ... ...controls. The ability to connect a 1/4 inch microphone (with volume and tone changers) as well as the ability to connect a 1/4 inch headphones (also with volume and tone changers) gives the DJ full flexabity connecting other equipment (such as mics and headphones you already have). I use this mixer to present live dance shows on an internet radio station, and have had very few issues with the general use of it. The only slight issue which I have ...

The best thing to happen to mixing since Technics made 1210s
Advantages: Bulletproof, Masses of features, Masses of fun, No carrying vinyl about Disadvantages: Need the software running for the sampler to work. Takes a while to learn the button combinations
This is well worth the extra money. I have been mixing for nearly 15 years and this mixer has completely revitalized mixing. The possibilities are endless and you just don't have enough hands to make this thing do what is possible. You can do some reeeally nice things like setting up loops in real time while you're mixing, layer infinite tracks over each other, set looooads of cue points on every track and then there's the FX! A few flaws (in my ...

The Perfect Mixer?
Advantages: Everything Disadvantages: N/A
I'd heard alot of good things about this mixer before I'd actually had a chance to use one. My expectations were very high and I was sure that there was no way that they could be fulfilled. I was wrong. This mixer has pretty much everything a working DJ could need. Its easy to use, well laid out, reliable and has some brilliant features. The crossfader has three setting which can be changed by the flick of a switch. The assignable channels are just ... ...thing I love the most about this mixer is the sound effects. Very few mixers can boast any form of build in sound effects unit, let alone one which has so many settings and is as easy to use as this one. You can select so many type of effects here, and, once you have, you can even change the settings on the effects. This is a beautifully crafted mixer that will probably be with me for a very very long time to come. ...
