DKNY Watch NY3715

I haven't owned many watches in my life as I tend to go for more expensive, classy watches which last a long time rather than cheap and cheerful watches which need replacing on a regular basis. I own an Armani watch at present, but my previous watch beforee this one was a DKNY NY3715 watch.

The one word I would use to describe this watch is 'bling'. It is very sparkly and full of little crystals which shine brightly in the light making this a very eye-catching watch. It appealled to me the second I laid eyes on it, with my only concern being would it look a little too fussy on my stupidly small wrist due to all the amazing detail in this watch.

The face of this watch is quite tall and thin and in a rectangular shape. It doesn't have numbers or roman numerals on it as most watches do. It simply has an indicator at the 12,3,6 and 9 spaces. The hands on this watch are very small, so if you are someone who suffers with eye problems and needs a large watch face, then this watch probably wouldn't be for you, nor would it be for someone who struggles to tell the time! The watch face itself is silver, as is the watch bracelet.

The style of the watch is very modern and as I said, very bling. The complete bracelet of the watch is covered with small crystal stones covering the inner and outer rim of the bracelet, with larger crystal stones in pairs covering the middle of the bracelet. It is the same pattern the whole way around the watch. The watch is fastened by a standard jewellery clasp as most watches are these days.

This watch is water resistant up to 30m which surprised me as it doesn't look like a normal waterproof watch. It has quartz movement and has self adjustable links on the back.

I really like the style of this watch, it is very girly though I would say it is more of a daywear watch than an eveningwear watch as although this is a really lovely looking watch, the amount of crystals on it do give it a slightly cheap look.

As this watch is from DKNY, you know it is not going to be cheap. As it was brought as a present for me, I have had to look up the price for it nowadays and it generally seems to retail at around £120.00, which in my opinion is a little expensive. I know DKNY is a good brand, so you are paying for the brand name as much as the watch, but I don't think the watch itself warrants such a high price tag. I personally would value it at no more than around £80.00.

Having said that, this watch did prove to be highly reliable and never once let me down. It did concern me that with the number of crystal stones within this watch, that if some of them came away from the bracelet that it would completely ruin the watch. The whole time I used this watch though, not one stone came away which I was very impressed with and probably does prove that this watch is well made and is of a high standard.

This watch does come in a lovely little presentation box and does have a 2yr guarantee if needed.

Overall, I did really like this watch as it is very pretty and very feminine, but for me there were just a few too many stones in it which slightly ruined it for me and made it a bit too fussy. It certainly sparkles on the wrist, but I prefer something a little more classy and understated nowadays so perhaps this watch would be more suited to younger ladies and older teenage girls. It is a little overpriced in my opinion for what it is, but as said, it proved its reliability to me and its of a high standard so that particially justifies the price.

I do recommend this watch as it is a very pretty watch, but was perhaps a little too 'blingy' for me.
