Never crashed... highly recommended
Review of D-Link DSL 320T by uktab

Advantages: It's small and it's never crashed.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages so far. A quick call to D-link and it was up in minutes.

...an smc 2804 for a d-link 655. The Voyager \ Smc combination crashed everytime we had heavy data loads (2 or more people streaming or downloading). We have 2 desktops ( 1 wired \ 1 wireless) 3 laptops (1 wired \ 2 wireless) 2 xbox 360's (1 wired \ 1 wireless) a Wii (wireless) and 3 Ds's. The 320T (and the 655) have never crashed, and handle all the connections easily). I've never had to reset either of these since they were installed, and recommend ... Read review

Fancy 25Mbps+ Broadband.. One Day you'll get it.
Review of Linksys ADSL2 Modem with USB & Ethernet ADSL2MUE by Stingwray

Advantages: Good Realiability and Future Proof.
Disadvantages: People Mis-understanding the Product.

...an excellent combination. But Linksys have gone one further and included a USB interface for people how do wish to use USB, this is nice to have but I would recommend you only use the Ethernet Interface because it is better. The biggest selling point is its ability to support up to ADSL2+ connections, so that includes normal ADSL and ADSL2. In the UK ADSL2 is only just being trialed but it will come to everybody and when it does if you have this ...
...anything less than that from Linksys which are a division of Cisco Systems which produce the network appliances for large networks and charge for it. On the USB side of things, you install the drivers, plug the modem in, put your details in and off you go. It is a simple as that, I had very little problems with it on my Windows XP computer, however I couldn't find any drivers for Linux etc. which means the USB interface isn't much use to me, but ... Great... for a while.
Review of D-Link DSL 300T by greenyblue_eyes

Advantages: Holds connection well. Ethernet DSL modem.
Disadvantages: Quite difficult to set up initially. Fails after a while.

I bought this modem because I needed an ethernet DSL modem, and there are not that many around. It was used to go into a US Robotics Router/Access Point for both wireless and a wired network. It was initially fairly difficult to set-up, with a steep learning curve but once understood all ran much more smoothly. The connection held most of the time, the modem only needing rebooting after power cuts and the like. It was used in conjunction with a ...
...was upgraded to 2mbps. It performed well under fairly strenous <- 2 users always on for long periods of time conditions. It worked fine for a year or so, before going a bit crazy for no apparent reason. The firmware was flashed, everything tried, but to no avail. The modem would not continue working. A bit of investigation through dsl forums showed this to be a fairly common occurence, many people telling the same story. A replacement was chosen, ... Read review

Great modem
Review of Netgear DM111P ADSL2+ Ethernet Modem by susangoodfellow

Advantages: Diagnostics if something goes wrong
Disadvantages: None

...along the line. The netgear also has a diagnostics page which you can access on your pc and from that I saw that the speed was very slow and there was a lot of noise on the line. So this was evidence for vodafone to give BT engineers who came and found my phone line was broken at the telegraph pole. One new phone line later and everything is well. The modem is white and comes with a stand so it actually stands on end and takes up very little space. ... Read review

BT VOYAGER 105, SLOW!
Review of BT Voyager 105 USB by mattwilko92

Advantages: Upgrade from Dial-up, was free from AOL.
Disadvantages: Slow, unreliable

If you look at my other reviews, ive reviewed the netgear router. I uprgaded to the netgear some simple reasons i wanted to share my internet, and have faster internet. The modern was supplied to me by AOL, and from start to finish i found it too be slow, un-reliable and basically not a very good piece of equipment. As it was linked to AOL i had to use the AOL sign on feature, which was so slow it was unbelieveable. Now you might say thats becuase ... Read review
