Worst modem ever?

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: doesn't work - drivers unsuitable for win2000 and xp

Bought this modem well over a year ago now - it has long since been replaced by an alcatel model (which works perfectly) I initially bought this model cheaply with filters and software disk so I assumed that there would be no problems with the install - as it was USB and i had the appropriate software if required. Win XP one of my operating systems first complained about incompatibility - this however is commonplace (the box and instructions told ...

However, after restarting the computer sometimes the modem would not be recognised and I would have to reinstall the software and sometimes the OS just crashed to bluescreen I contacted customer support for a new more compatible driver - but no such luck. The same situation occurred on my Win 2000 computer - which according to the box was also compatible. Not tried Win 98 - but this OS is getting ...

Never crashed... highly recommended

Advantages: It's small and it's never crashed.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages so far. A quick call to D-link and it was up in minutes.

BT VOYAGER 105, SLOW!

Advantages: Upgrade from Dial-up, was free from AOL.
Disadvantages: Slow, unreliable

If you look at my other reviews, ive reviewed the netgear router. I uprgaded to the netgear some simple reasons i wanted to share my internet, and have faster internet. The modern was supplied to me by AOL, and from start to finish i found it too be slow, un-reliable and basically not a very good piece of equipment. Broadband Modem at its simplest

Advantages: Very easy to install, Realiable
Disadvantages: Unusual Design

I recevied this modem for free as part of signing up to Virgin broadband through my BT line. It comes in a small box along with the driver dc,filter for the phone line,instruction manual,the phone cable and the unit itself.
