Never crashed... highly recommended
Review of D-Link DSL 320T by
uktab
Advantages: It's small and it's never crashed.
Disadvantages: No disadvantages so far. A quick call to D-link and it was up in minutes.
...an smc 2804 for a d-link 655. The Voyager \ Smc combination crashed everytime we had heavy data loads (2 or more people streaming or downloading). We have 2 desktops ( 1 wired \ 1 wireless) 3 laptops (1 wired \ 2 wireless) 2 xbox 360's (1 wired \ 1 wireless) a Wii (wireless) and 3 Ds's. The 320T (and the 655) have never crashed, and handle all the connections easily). I've never had to reset either of these since they were installed, and recommend ...

Great modem
Review of Netgear DM111P ADSL2+ Ethernet Modem by
susangoodfellow
Advantages: Diagnostics if something goes wrong
Disadvantages: None
...along the line.
The netgear also has a diagnostics page which you can access on your pc and from that I saw that the speed was very slow and there was a lot of noise on the line. So this was evidence for vodafone to give BT engineers who came and found my phone line was broken at the telegraph pole.
One new phone line later and everything is well.
The modem is white and comes with a stand so it actually stands on end and takes up very little space. ...

BT VOYAGER 105, SLOW!
Review of BT Voyager 105 USB by
mattwilko92
Advantages: Upgrade from Dial-up, was free from AOL.
Disadvantages: Slow, unreliable
If you look at my other reviews, ive reviewed the netgear router. I uprgaded to the netgear some simple reasons i wanted to share my internet, and have faster internet. The modern was supplied to me by AOL, and from start to finish i found it too be slow, un-reliable and basically not a very good piece of equipment. As it was linked to AOL i had to use the AOL sign on feature, which was so slow it was unbelieveable. Now you might say thats becuase ...

Broadband Modem at its simplest
Review of Thomson SpeedTouch 330 by
matty168
Advantages: Very easy to install, Realiable
Disadvantages: Unusual Design
I recevied this modem for free as part of signing up to Virgin broadband through my BT line. It comes in a small box along with the driver dc,filter for the phone line, instruction manual, the phone cable and the unit itself.
In order to install this your pc must have a usb port and a cd drive as you need to install the driver. The easiest way to install it is to first of all install the software driver which you can do very easily by simply inserting ... ...It takes a few minutes to install the software and then it will prompt you to connect the modem to your pc by USB. Once you've done this,it will set it up automatically for you and then it will create a shortcut on your desktop. At this point you are almost done, just make sure you have connected the modem and the filter correctly.
Once this has been completed, simply enter your username and password and then you are connected to the net via broadband!.

Slow but sure
Review of Thomson SpeedTouch 330 by
susangoodfellow
Advantages: Keeps going
Disadvantages: Slow
This modem was sent to me by Wanadoo when I first changed to broadband four years ago.
It connects via usb which is what I wanted because my pc at the time did not have an ethernet socket.
It is silver and looks ok, somewhat like a large mouse, the computer kind not the sort my cat brings in.
I had to install it using a cd sent by Wanadoo and follow the instructions not to plug it in until the drivers were installed.
Once installed you have to ... ...password to connect to the internet.
I was somewhat confused with all this, I had always thought broadband meant it was on all the time. Well not with this modem, every time you want to use the internet you have to go through the same routine, which probably only takes a few seconds but is annoying all the same.
In its favour, it was reliable and was still working four years later when I changed my provider and got an ethernet modem, I had a new ...
